Your pet peeves in games.

Save Games - I want to have the choice of saving my game when I want to and not when the game decides.

Racing Games - The auto catchup, soo annoying and totally unfair, when you have done all the hard work in getting in front and you have a big lead, then you find yourself being over-taken, just before the finishing line

When in a game (such as BFBC2) you request a lift of a team mate, sometimes even a squad mate, and they just drive off into the distance, whilst your left miles from the action ......... grrrrrrrrrr

Hahaha... BC2 can be so damn frustrating with this kinda stuff. Even worse when you're playing Russia, I've left teammates behind plenty of times because I just hear random jibberish when they request a lift :D

I also hate when you get out to repair the tank your in and it either drives off leaving me slamming the Q key like a maniac and raging in chat, or it reverses into you so you slide inside the tank and can't repair it properly

Oh yes, Escore missions. Missions failing and game over when you fail to keep an npc alive.

Hahaha, the last level of Metro 2033 comes to mind. It was just so unneccesary... I had next to no ammo and ended up cheating my way around it by slipping onto the ledge, walking round it to the front of the sploding ball things then shooting them from there as the guy's getting pummelled. He walks as slowly as possible and makes sure he walks into every single goo ball he can.

Stupid, stupid mission.

Games with boringly stupid minigames that must be completed before you can move on, the most frustrating game of all time was Call of Juarez bound in blood with that stupidly insane quick draw in every level which involved sliding the mouse at split second timing only to be shot dead every time because your mouse speed wasn't detected quick enough or whatever.

When the game quicksaves at a point where you have no health and it's impossible to carry on. Only to find that you can't jump back any further in any of your saves. This happened to me in STALKER, there was a bug where it didn't spawn any enemies, the game quicksaved and i quit when I loaded it up again all the enemies spanwed at once and wasted me everytime. I ended up never playing it again. Which is a shame as it was really good. Just couldn't face doing it all again. I learned that day to alternate more then one save file.

13 year olds playing 18+ games who then procede to scream, hollah and shout down their mic when they die accusing you of being a "nerd" or "faggot" - more so on consoles.

Unsynchronised character speech - after huge development efforts, why is it so hard to get characters to speek intime with the audio? Unless there is some massively complex engine required to do so I don't know why this is still a problem in most games.

Not being able to jump over that 10cm tall impassable tree root. You usually play a guy so hard & fit than he can beat up a giant octopus or blow up a gigantic living starship but you want to jump over that small mushroom?! Fuggetaboutit!

Quick time events - especially if you have remapped the keys and the game is too poor to have taken that into account and tells you to press the wrong buttons - Fear 2 did this to me once - instant uninstall.

Achievements - I just hate them, even more if they actually give in game unlocks etc.

Multiplayer unlocks - Again why? Does everyone just have a 2 second attention span nowadays? As a casual player I'm dreading loading up BF3 to get destroyed by the sad sack who has played none stop from release date and has the super laser BFG death ray weapon. They claim they are all balanced, but I know from the beta they sure as hell aren't!!!

Stealth levels. What is the point? I'll buy a stealth game if I want to spend my time being strange.

Being 'knocked out' rather than dieing in every RPG I've played since BG2.

Streamlining.

Civilization 5 everytime you start it you have to watch that stupid intro movie.

I know I can skip it with the config! But then all you get is a black screen for aaaaaages.

I swear I'll break my escape key at some point. :D It's not even an interesting intro movie!

A lot of aggravated people out there!

It makes you wonder why games producers ignore all these sort of quibbles, there's plenty of feedback for them to read.

Even more bizarre is when they post videos of work in progress it usually appears as they though they are gamers themselves judging by their enthusiasm as they describe how wonderful it's going to be
