Your top 10 gaming moments!

Not too many but still..

*Battlefield 2 - Sniping the pilot of a full black hawk and seeing it go down and smash into a tank and APC, only got the one kill but it didnt matter

*Battlefield 2 again - Finally being able to pilot the jet through that tunnel on Kubra dam.

*Call Of Duty 2 - Singlehandidly bashing half of a clans team in one round, they were all camping in the radio hut on Carentan

*Call Of Duty United Offensive - Playing on a Pavlov rifles only server for literally 10 hours straight and getting 350 kills

* Final Fantasy 7-9 - Every part of them

*Half Life 2 - Fighting the strider for the first time

Some of my top gaming moments.

- First time I put my Voodoo II in and fired up Unreal... the difference was staggering. Unfortunately I suck at single-player FPS games, and I never got out of the spaceship, so I never experienced the larger world that people used to always go on about. I don't think now it would have the same jaw-dropping reaction that I have heard other people had :(

- Carmageddon. The whole game was so enjoyable from start to finish, it's one of the very few games I've ever completed. So many close moments when you think the next hit will finish you off, but you manage to hit them in just the right place, they come off worse and you have enough money to repair yourself just enough to prevent the next hit from killing you.

- Gran Turismo. It was so different when it first came out, you could actually race with real cars, which for the time looked excellent. There was reflections from the surroundings, changing as you go from sunlight to shade, it was brilliant. And the modifications you could do the cars as well, it was something never before seen. I spent many months playing this, and buying/selling cars with people at school. Completing the endurance races that had tyre wear enabled, that was a feat in itself, especially as I did many of them without pausing at all!

- Call Of Duty. The game was so cinematic, the battles really intense, and the scripted nature didn't really matter as the game was so good, you didn't notice it when you're so immersed, fighting your hardest to complete the objective.

- Medal Of Honor - Normandy. Need I say more?

- Sonic The Hedgehog - completing the game in a single sitting, never once pausing.

- Super Mario Brothers. Every morning before school I would be dropped off to a friend's house with about half an hour before we went to school. Each morning we would play SMB, and try to complete as much as possible in the quickest time. We did complete it on a couple of occasions :)

fishing in zelda:)

cup of tea and fishing in zelda!

playing goldeneye with my wife, best friends until 4am in the morning....possible the best social multi player game i have ever played. games are brilliant now i dont disagree...but I think best moments in games are when you remember certain times in your life:)

plus planetside in its hey day..wow what a buzz!!

demo of operation flashpoint....wow how big a landscape!!

now....world of warcraft..beating nef and completing BWL which is now on farm status for our guild:)

Games get such bad press...but socially they are amazing...yes we try to shoot things but guild chat..team speak...we all do it....such a laugh..and we all come from different countries and NOT once do we talk about killing each other..religion....bombs.....infact there is more love on team speak then anywhere!!

5. Vampire: The Masquerade (not Bloodlines, old one), whole game in general.
6. Gothic I and II, the whole storyline and yet non-linear gameplay of the two games were jawdropping.

That's about it really

Old classics played with sister/cousins/mates like impact and repton on the bbc...
Duck hunt and trying to figure out mission impossible on the nes...
Street fighter2 on the megadrive (hadouken! my first experience of rsi! lol)
My first experience of doom tfc multiplayer over null modem cable the same day i'd built my first pc...
Playing the C&C demo for 2 days non-stop (only 1 level!) and saving my pocket money to buy the complete game...
Spending 11 hours finding the rar files for the UT demo (original) and downloading them via 28.8 modem...
The years spent playing UT and every other FPS i could get my hands on, yet still returning to UT time after time... (Q3, HL/CS, RTCW, COD, FarCry)
Now all my time is spent (and has been for well over a year) playing WoW... Continued amazement for each and every boss learn & kill, the tactics and the players...

Playing the beta for Asheron's Call - first mmo I tried. Amazing.

Seeing ArmourGeddon on the Amiga, realising what you could do in game..

Playing TombRaider and meeting the T-Rex (whole game was great though)

First time I played FFVII (I still do, but that first time.... )

First time I loaded QuakeII on my VoodooII.

When I started playing Frontier : Elite II on the amiga. Got hooked.

Getting Turrican for my Amstrad CPC. It was horrific but I loved it!

Gauntlet I + II on my CPC. Would play for ages with friends at the keyboard.

I always found getting all the chaos emeralds in sonic 2 quite difficult, especially when you compare it to the later games. It was probably due to the fact that the crazed 3d race bit triggered a new seizure every time... :D

*adds to list*

Here we go...

Playing Elite on the BBC micro, without doubt the greatest game ever. I still have a windows 98 machine just for playing Frontier: Elite II...

UFO - Enemy unknown on the Amiga CD32. That was a great game, the feeling of accomplishment when you actually captured aliens and got an artifact that help you develop brilliant new technology...

Tomb Raider - Me and my mate playing it non-stop and completing it in one marathon session - Nearly 36 hours...

Rock Star Ate My Hamster on the ZX spectrum, actually getting through a whole year without all my Rock Stars dying..

Freelancer on PC, An amazing game, very reminiscient of Elite, but with a structured story line. Immense, immersive game, but the moment when you go through a jump gate and your entire screen goes red with attacking enemy forces and fighting for your life....

Day Of Defeat Beta 2.0 - Omaha Beach, after being a die hard Day of Defeat player from the beginning, to play Omaha Beach for the first time when the game no longer looked like a CS clone, but had truly independent graphics, amazing, that onslaught was scary.

Will add more if i can think of any..

In No order

  • COD storming the Reikstag
  • Hal Life 2, pretty much all of it
  • Finishing Neverwinter Nights
  • Attacking Rome, in Rome
  • The D-Day mission in COD 2
  • The last couple of hours of F.E.A.R

I'm sure there are more, but those are the ones which spring to mind

I loved beta 2.0. Dog1 and Heatau were simply awsome. Makes me feel sad when I see what the games turned into now :(

Cant Think Of Too Many. Main ones :-

1. Matrix Online - Starting the most hated clan on the entire game. called the bowery boys.

2. Matrix Online - Starting up the second most hated clan and then getting asked by delevopers and the main crew to join there team and help them with the games future!!

3. Matrix Online - Having a clan names after me called "Everybody Hates Neoni" - Achieve....ment!

4. BF2 - Playing no better than i have ever done but yet coming 3rd place in i26!

In no particular order:
  • Deus Ex - All of it. Especially the revelation that UNATCO aren't necessarily the good guys...
  • Baldur's Gate II - after you leave the dungeon, amazing atmosphere, loved the music
  • Command and Conquer (original, PS1) - my first real game, I remember sitting down in the living room and playing on it for hours
  • EVE Online - right at the beginning... that feeling of just being completely overwhelmed by everything
  • Final Fantasy X - really sad ending :(
  • Counter Strike Source - running around with a single round left in my clip, seeing someone, taking a shot in their general direction and getting a headshot from 30 feet :D
  • Dungeon Keeper - playing it for the first time, loved it
