Your top 5 visually most impressive games poll

I personally think it's a close call between:

Metro 2033 & Crysis but i'll give it to metro for the DX11 support :D
Both amazing games though without a doubt, Dirt 2 isnt too bad either :P But i think the winner is... LIMBO.

Sadly not, not much difference between High and Ultra at all. When playing you won't notice anything, you will notice a few shadows if you stand still and watch the screen :)

Maybe in single player, but try in a 64 player multilayer server. I'm pretty sure when you select High instead of Ultra you it drops the ambient occlusion setting down a notch from hbao?. When it's up full you get so much more smoke dust and mayhem than when set on ssao. Also the little things like washing drying hanging on a line and birds. After playing on 5870 quadfire for a while with the ssao then moving to the 7970s with more vram and using the higher settings there are so many little details I've noticed and thought were cool that get lost on the high detail setting. :)

Err that's my really long way of saying that Battlefield 3 gets my vote :D

I'd say:

1) Crysis
2) Metro 2033
3) Dirt 3
4) Skyrim (for the world design and those lovely northern lights)

Battlefield would be in there, but I can't even get it to run :mad:

From what I've played.

1. Crysis
2. Witcher 2
3. Skyrim (Modded)
4. Just Cause 2
5. Battlefield 3

Honestly can't see the obsession with BF3 graphics. The sun glare takes up 90% of the screen and a lot of the textures look terrible. It looks good in some respects such as lighting though. Couldn't say it would be as good as Crysis Vanilla.

What about Two Worlds 2

From the video's I've seen of that, it is simply stunning!

ive mentioned it in my top 5.... also Witcher 2 hmm lovely game but visually its too grainy still beautiful but not top 5 material imo and as for BF3 I never played it i know i know "OFF WITH HIS HEAD!!"

[EDIT] by the way that GTA4 modded looks AMAZING deffo going to give that a try but i bet it plays like pants low fps etc

  • Crysis - most stunning engine ever
  • The Witcher 2 - simply beautiful
  • Metro 2033 - attention to detail
  • Battlefield 3 - realism
  • Just Cause 2 - sheer scale with no loading areas

As for the 5th place, it could be any of the games with large modding community (Total War games, Warband, Bethesda games, Minecraft, FSX) depending on your preference.

in no particular order:

CARS (its not even complete and it already looks stunning)
crysis
GTAIV with 98276359826345 mods on it
just cause 2
battlefield 3

Battlefield 3 multiplayer probably impresses me most.

The singleplayer is spoiled by splashing a low res, 2d mud or dirt texture across the screen half the time. Whhyyyyyyy?
