YouTube Premium

Not that I would, because it would be naughty. But if I somehow took a quick trip to another country could I buy YouTube premium for cheaper?
Even if you could effectively do that (which seems unlikely, as you wouldn't have a bank account or card originating in that country or long-term valid address to use) then surely it would just get blocked once you got home and started using it consistently from the UK? How is what you are proposing any different from the current VPN-based 'hacks' especially if you are using a UK-registered card to pay for it?

Just had the email about 5 minutes ago. Seems my jaunt in Ukraine comes to an end on 05/12/2024. Anyone having any luck elsewhere or any other methods for reasonable price premium?

Boooooo. Just had the email also, need a form of payment issued in Turkey. I only use one, maybe two of my family account anyway so might have to consider “pooling” with someone.

I’ve found a few websites that promote the option of selling spare slots on family subs; not sure on their legitimacy just yet but could be an option.

Wow, looks like they rumbled a big batch of people today :D Only way of getting around it at the moment is paying for it via a foreign Apple account using foreign gift cards, and then paying for Youtube via your balance. That way Youtube has no payment information that they can go by. It's a bit of a pain but not the worst, happy to do it for the savings. I can't see them catching onto this too easily, they have no payment records to go by, and only the location of the IP using the account, which I don't think they could cancel Premium over without disrupting genuine people.

I tried that today and still wouldn't work, nor would it work on my iPad with a different phone number that's not registered to an account already.

I did manage to do it online through the website though, then log onto that account with my iPad. Set it up with a random address from Turkey, entered no payment details. Bought a Turkish Gift card and applied that to the account. Connected to a Turkey VPN, opened Youtube and renewed the family plan and it used the gift card balance. Job done :)

Two months of family plan for less than £7. Beats £19.99 a month.

Balls. I got the email too, they worked out i wasn't in fact living I Argentina :D That's a pain. I'm already using Smart Tube Next on my Firestick, and hopefully Ublock will work with browsers, but what about on the phone? I used to use YouTube Vanced but didn't that go south?
