YouTube Premium

Just tried renewing and all I got is a message from YT saying "We couldn't verify your country. Please visit the Help Centre for more information."

Only thing I have changed since last year is my VPN which is now surf shark.

Ukraine, Israel, Vietnam, Indonesia. None of them are as cheap as Turkey or India but it is also not £12 a month.
 
I've been really appreciating youtube premium in the car as of late. on long journeys having youtube play in the BG so I can listen to episodes of stuff is great, or have the little popup window in one corner floating over Waze etc on the stereo nav screen.

Even over Android Auto it still floats which is convenient (stereo runs Android so has youtube/netflix etc).

I must watch at least 5hrs of YouTube everyday. It's an endless source of entertainment, news, sports and even education.

I don't google things as much as I YouTube them these days, for product reviews specially.
 
It's good on the whole but some of the Youtube stuff gets on my nerves.
  • Can't disable tik-tok Shorts.
  • Youtube often sends me to a 3-4 hour long video on auto-play, no way to tell it I don't want to watch such videos.
  • No in-video ad skips, which I think Premium should get as you're paying to skip ads.
Revanced does 1 and 3 of these, but not 2, Revanced and Premium both suffer from the issue of sending me along to silly long videos thing.

I don't think it's worth anywhere near the £12 or so per month they want for it, I'd probably pay a few £ a month tops just to get rid of most ads.

I couldn't agree more.

I used it today for some plumbing work which without it I would have been clueless!
 
I have been having trouble renewing my subscription.
Using Nord and tried Windscribe VPN as well.

Was originally with Turkey.
 
im trying this now, the Ads do my head in. Can i use a Revolut card for this? should i set up revolut account as in Argentina?

or can i just use my uk credit card (barclaycard) with uk address? barclaycard with argentina address would come up as fraud with the credit card wouldnt it?

Just my recent update on getting this working for me, using VPN - Kenya was my answer whilst using my Revolut card.

I use it to watch a fair bit of history and science related content as the BBC seem to have abandoned its commitment to public service broadcasting of late. I should probably try and sort something out re premium the ads are beyond irritating
