I like these two videos, one shows young-uns fighting it out with bursts of exploding speed and power while the second one shows a more refined older kendo, where one wrong move means death.

Sumi-sensei is fighting his wife (8th vs 5th dan) I have met Sumi-sensei, he is the teacher of my teacher. He's a really cool guy.
I know most won't understand what is going on or who is winning, but like any martial art/sport, there is a point system, like boxing I guess. Where only confirmed attacks on parts of the body count. Head, Neck, Wrist, Lower chest area and adding Naginata, the feet. The idea is if you can hit "cut" these areas with precision any time and in good form, you can strike any other part of the body.
It's not enough just to strike these areas, as Ki ken tai no icchi must be included. Which in simple terms, a strong voice as they attack that body part, the attack blow must be correct and with precision and after the strike, the person must be ready to attack again and as such must have a good form.

Yes, which was why I hesitated to post the video. But I thought it was interesting enough and hoped nobody would get really fanatic about a favoured weapon this time. They're both wrong anyway - a spear is the besterest weapon
The video is far from conclusive for the obvious reason they made clear in the video - you can't safely do a realistic fight with those weapons. Within sword range, the swordsman would be at an advantage...but in a realistic fight they might well get seriously injured before they got within range. But it does show that one on one in open ground starting from distance would be bad news for the swordsman because it's damned hard to effectively parry or dodge a staff. You canna break the laws of physics!
Although the obvious course of action would be to unscrew the pommel on the sword and end him rightly.
Having been seconded to Mississippi for 5 weeks through work i still can't believe i had the chance to visit Graceland. That's an amusing conspiracy video. I particularly liked the intro music and video, which was such cheesy conspiracy blather that Mulder would have laughed at it.
I was particularly amused by them starting off with electric cars >100 years ago, which obviously failed not because they were suppressed but because ICEVs rapidly became far better. EVs are only viable in some situations with modern technology. >100 years ago they were expensive city cars and there was no indication that they could ever be anything else. ICEVs quickly became much cheaper, much faster and vastly more useful because they could be driven for far longer distances and could also be used for a much wider variety of commercial purposes than EVs, which were only used as expensive luxury taxis for short journeys within a city. The USA was much too big and too spread out for cars with a maximum range of ~30 miles. Many people had a use for driving a lot further than that. Everywhere was much less urbanised >100 years ago.

EDIT: Oh wow, it was even better than that. After a couple of examples that had a reasonable amount of truth in them, they skittered over thorium (obviously nuclear fission is so popular nowadays that countries not spending a fortune developing a way to do fission with thorium must be suppressing it because thorium is potentially cheaper than uranium) and ended with a claim so ridiculous that Mulder would stop laughing and be startled into silence by how silly it is. It's the Magic Man Tesla's Free Energy From Nothing Device, which would obviously exist if it hadn't been suppressed. But that's OK. My perpetual motion device is currently charging up my lightsaber katana which I will then use to cut reality and escape into Narnia, so I'm fine.
