Z4/M Owners Thread

Enjoy my Z4M a lot, fantastic car.

Currently have it for sale as values seem to be insane and am testing the water to see if they are realistic at all, because I don't think they are actually selling at the appreciated prices.

Someone has said it's garages buying up mint models then just sitting on them with ridiculously expensive prices. That has then pushed up the other end of the market.

If you do want it sold check to see what traders around you have one and give them a call.

Apparently those in the know say it's going to be a future classic. I saw an old Jag yesterday for instance must have been at least 40 years old. Think it was £80k.

Yup, that's exactly the case.. just in the last two weeks a forum member sold his z4m coupe for 15xxx to a dealer after no buyer wanted it.. it's back on autotrader site for 22k with some polish and an approved used warranty.

That's been exactly my experience so far offer wise.

No need for me to call them, they are calling me it would seems. Had two traders offer an out right purchase or sale on commission.

what offers you getting as an outright purchase?

i'd say it's worth selling if they are offering stupid money. you could get yourself a nice E89 or a deposit for the new Z4 launching in 2018

Part way through refreshing the suspension on mine, all seem to be original parts bar the rear springs, so it'll be well past it's best at 100k miles!

Done front control arms, anti roll bushes and drop links, next job is the track rods, rear arb bushes, drop links and trailing arm bushes.

After that, at some point, I'm thinking a Bilstein kit may well be ordered :p

Also going to refresh the gearbox and diff oil soon, no record of them having ever been replaced so better safe than sorry!

i did the gearbox and diff oil last year.

it certainly feels a lot smoother and i used to get the odd sensor issue from the gearbox but i replaced the battery at the same time too with a much better one. never had it since. however i do think it was the battery as it's stopped the alarm going off randomly too.

Z4 35iS here, got it six months ago and finally enjoying some proper top down weather. Loving the DCT box. Two cracked rear wheels caused an MOT failure, but great excuse to ditch the run flats and now running much nice on Eagle F1 asy3's all round, dont have to brace myself for pot holes!

2004 Z4 3.0i in Sterling Grey for me, had it now for almost two years.

2004 ? blimey they still look fairly modern to me !

I have a Focus (2008-2012 model) and the Z4 doesn't compete with the MK 1 Focus thats for sure, its a league a head for sure

I really, really miss my old Z4MR. Had an amazing road trip around Europe in it in 2011 and loved showing it every year at the Silverstone Classic with the owners' club. Shame I couldn't fit both the wife and dog in it at the same time as me.

Nice @thecremeegg I love style 224 on a z4.
Thanks! I had 108s on but they are in dire need of a refurb so I fancied a change. I got the car washed just now and took another pic or 2:

Need to get a new parking sensor as one just disappeared one day, plus get it lowered on the Eibachs and I'm pretty happy. I'd like to de-tango the front lights but I lack the desire to cut the units open!

You can get aftermarket headlights but they're cheap looking imo. All I'd do to that is polish the exhaust tips and headlights to bring the shine/clarity of the glass back!

I did polish the lights once, they're much better tahnt hey were but I couldn't get them as good as I'd like.
Exhaust wise, I don't like the shiny exhaust look, I like the "used" look instead
