Z68 BLOWOUT! VERY LIMITED DEALS!

I bought a Gigabyte X58 G1 Guerilla Intel X58 (Socket 1366) DDR3 Motherboard - Gaming Series on 1 day special deal ,didnt have a cpu for it so i just put the box away till i got my Intel 990X . went to build it last week and took the plastic cover off and noticed bent pins , the problem is i bought this in September and dont know what to do with the board

best bet would be to contact gigabyte as ocuk wouldn't want anything to do with, as obviously you're lying about not damaging it as the only way for it to have been damaged is if you dropped something in the socket or touched the pins(especially if you get the guy that i spoke to, the other guy maybe more helpful) ;)

I'll await zoomes' retort ;)

I've had dealings with OCUK cs, just contact the manufacturer and save yourself time and money. Amazing how shop staffers disappear when people raise valid complaints in these type of threads. I know its Saturday etc. Hope they prove me wrong but I wouldn't hold my breath

I asked one of the Gigabyte guys back in 2009 and they said they do accept it for RMA.

Hi Nelly

We can accept such product under warranty, shouldn't be any problem.
Also check this September 2011 thread >> http://forum.giga-byte.co.uk/index.php/topic,6830.0.html

Gigabyte are really good for RMA, and quick turnaround, plus their RMA centre is in Milton Keynes, UK. :)

they've not gone missing, they've simply chosen to ignore the posts that mention anything like this. NathWraith has posted a few times since I raised the issue and he even posted after specops mentined it but he chose to ignore it and reply to lukebb.

I've mentioned being called a liar in a number of threads some of them like this one where a ocuk staff has posted in and most likely seen the post but chosen to ignore it.

i haven't dropped anything on it ,if ive damaged it it must be when i removed the plastic shield ,chances of that happening are slim surely ,dont get me wrong i have tried the MB it powers up then powers down like its in a loop on off on off

I'm not saying you damaged it by dropping anything in it etc, its what the ocuk rma guy I spoke to said to me. according to him the only way to damage the pins is to drop something on them or touch them with your fingers, he called me a liar when I told him I'd done neither of those things simply took out the protector and poped the cpu in.

I ordered the asrock extreme7 on 30th august, recieved it on 7th sepetember. like you I couldn't start building as I had to get a few other bits and pieces before I could start, ontop of that on 17th september I had to leave for 3weeks.

I didn't come to build till couple weeks back when I found that after I'd put everything together(I didn't look closely at the socket before I poped the cpu in so not sure if the were pins bent before or after I put the cpu in, tho according to the ocuk guy the cpu wouldn't bend the pins) and turned it on got error code 45(to do with the ram), tested by putting 1 stick of ram in 1 slot at a time and got the error in slot 3&4 but not in 1&2(so can't even run 8gb of the 16gb I have in dual channel mode, just in single channel).

so thus far I've spent £245 on the board, to get it fixed I'll have to spen another ~£35+ or o to get it fixed by posting it to the netherlands to asrock(£18 to send to asrock(if I want to insure it it'll be £28) + £15 for asrock to send it back to me).

that's going to be a damn expensive MB ,i will get in touch with Gigabyte and see what they have to say ,

yeah I may as well bought the asus maxius iv extreme-z or gigabyte g1 sniper2 as thats how much I'll end up paying for a motherboard I got tempted into buying due to the pre-order price(£210), I was originally looking at the extreme4 gen3(~£160) or asus p8z68-v pro (£150-£160).

Finally took the plunge and went for the UD5, I5 2500K and the G.Skill RipJawsX 8Gb 12800 kit. The motherboard saved me some money!

Seems they didn't extend it for another day or ended it early, shame as I need two MBs at some point soon.
Yeah I looked early this afternoon and the deal had gone. Maybe send him a mail, he might be able to sort something for you?
