Zune or iPod?

Agreed. Dont understand the hate towards iPods. Probably the most user-friendly devices there are. EVen my parents are able to use them!

I think my hate is one of those nonconformist types of hate. Like people who run linux instead of windows. I don't like them because everyone has them and thinks they're the be-all and end-all, but I can see there are better players on the market (IN MY OPINION!), as looks are not as important to me as functionality, and i'm not a technophobe so how easy it is to use is not a big deal.

Fight the machine!

Far too overpriced for what I'd want one for. If I wanted to watch stuff, I'd use a computer. Likewise the net. Likewise emails. Likewise games. I dont want yet another thing to put in my pocket. And iTunes is dire.

I've got a 4gb flash memory jobby for training with, all I need at present. I am trying to find a good player that supports FLAC though.

Fair enough, but out of interest would you consider changing if a better product came out that did more, or was cheaper that wasn't made by Apple?

Damn right. Thing that annoys me is you have to make a playlist to put stuff on your iPod. I just want to drag and drop, so I use Floola. Can't emphasise enough how much I like Floola

There is a website that sells zunes to the uk which i and others on ocuk have used its very good arrived on time worked without problems until today.

My ipod freezes every now and then - just have to let the battery die and then start again which is not the end of the world, but annoying when you get to the gym all ready and then your ipod freezes

Oh and iphones are not cool anymore as every ***** and his wife has got one!! Make's you look like you're trying to be in 'The Hills' or something *cringe*

Always thought the zune marketplace was better than itunes and the units i find a little better than the ipods, however this is epic fail.

The original Zunes I thought were pretty terrible and far behind the ipod at least in terms of design, they were a brick!
However, just saw the new ones the other day in a shop and must admit they were 10 times better! Look pretty sleek and smart, $99 also!

Depends on how your treat your gear and/or luck.

On my second iPod now (Classic) after having a 4th Gen for many years. Have a 2G iPhone now too. All great, replaced the battery on the 4th Gen for £20 as well a couple of summers ago.

However my older sister went through about 4-5 4th Gen iPods as they were all broken, luckily all replaced at no cost. iTunes on Windows is shocking though, Mac OS X version is top notch.

Apparently the Zune bug affects even the latest firmware on the 30GB models, shame Microsoft haven't released the Zune in Europe for various complicated reasons. Maybe they haven't got a deal in place with Universal Music Group to get proceeds from Zune hardware sales in Europe.
