I could have swore he served a 4 year ban at United. Insane to think he was the world’s most expensive player at one time. Think he played about 3 good games for United and 1 good half against City when the league was on the line. Apart from that he was pretty pathetic.

When he goes down he doesn't get the freekick, when he doesn't go down VAR ignores it. What is he supposed to do? 3/4 times Forest went in on him after the ball had gone and the ref did nothing. Didn't even whistle for a foul most of the time. It was clearly a gameplan by Forest after they heard he was carrying an injury to target him.

Not feign injury? How can it not be anything but embarrassing.

How about not let out a massive scream, putting your hand in the air waving like he's asking the teacher to go to the toilet and then jump up like a spring chicken 5 seconds later when he realises he can get the ball. You think that's ok to act like that as a captain? You stretch so far too often.

So what should he do? He didn't go down when a player tried to choke him last game and what did the ref do? Nothing. What did VAR do? Nothing.

Years ago when they retrospectively banned that Arsenal player then went back on it just opened the door for cheating to prosper.

Had they just kept it in place the diving and faking injury would have all but stopped over night.

If he got a match ban for his play acting, I’d bet my house he’d stop. Same with bookings for card waving, claiming for pens etc
