This looks pretty much what I'm after to replace my Samsung Gamer 7 (which I absolutely love but I need something a little more portable).

Screen is important though, I've been spoiled by the 7 which has probably the best 1080p screen I've used, and by my work's retina Mac..

One thing I really really like but could you guys confirm, is that from the picture I've seen the fans are completely exposed for cleaning when removing the bottom panel - is this right?

Getting at the fans is very easy, removing the fans/heatsink assembly is a teardown through. While it's 'only' ~2.7KG, it's not exactly an ultra portable. My workmate was very impressed with the level of noise this makes while under load, in a fairly quiet office, a good trade off in my opinion for a few mm in thickness

Any one have the 4k screen that can comment? What brand is it? Is it any good compared to the 1080LG?

I really wish this had the thunderbolt port though, I want some level of future proofing, and not being able to use ddr4?

Can anyone tell me a good M.2 SSD and and ram stick to put in? Also if someone could explain to me the difference between the B and M connectors on the SSD, I'll be happy. Cheers.

I used a 250GB Samsung 850 Evo M2 SSD. Works very nicely :)

Any 1600MHz DDR3L ram is fine. Just make sure it has the L or low power 1.35v in the description
I bought a Kingston 8GB stick for £35.

Thanks. Any good cloning/migrating software you can give me the names of?
