McCanns going too far?

Was reading in one of the papers today the fund set up to find the kid will be allowed to fund the defence case of the mccans,people donated so the money would be used in the hunt to find the kid not to be used to pay for £500 an hour lawyers.
They have a huge house so i`m sure they can sell that and downsize and use that money to pay for their own legal costs.

well it depends what you're doing,
at night the toddler will likely be asleep in another room etc,
but if you're going out for a couple of drinks at a pub you get a babysitter even if the pub is only 100 yards down the road, no?

Hmm...what's to decide? If they are shown to have been involved then the money was raised under false pretences and they have no right to its use. Oh I kept reading and see that the majority of the 'directors' are friends of the couple :/ That'll just be ******* ridiculous if they do get their hands on it.

And lol, the thought of using "Maddie"'s fund to defend themselves is not only ridiculous, but morally wrong.
It's just so funny, they apparently have all of a sudden given up in the search for their daughter, and are now wanting to use the fund set up to find her to protect themselves. It gets fishier by the day.

Parents have enough money to get themselves very good lawyers.
It definately isn't right, although i don't know if those are the way events unfolded (like everyone else in this thread i'm just speculating) they would seem like a very logical prosession should 2 people panic and want to raise money for lawyers.

i don't think the board will allow the funds to be used for these lawyer fees. even if you are 100% behind the mc canns (which of course they are), they must know that it's morally wrong to use the money for this purpose. this is not what people gave their money for. they gave it to help find a little girl.
and what about the the backlash they'd get..... i just don't think it will happen.

These reports of a clump of hair in the boot, if they went to that much trouble to hide the body for 20 odd days then dump it again, you would have thought they would have cleaned and checked the boot out.

LEtting them use the money or not is a tuff call for whoever decides. If they ARE Innocent, which I don't believe for a minute, but if they are then they should be able to use the money.
But if they are guilty it makes it absolutely wrong in a million different ways for them to use it.

Why exactly?
That money was donated to help find a little girl, nothing else. I can't see anyone donating money thinking "I've made a difference, the McCanns can now afford top-notch legal representation!".
