January Transfer Window

Some dude who "has contacts" on redcafe seems to think Berbatov will be coming for United for 30m. With Brown going the other way.

"Has contacts" ? What like his mates down the pub?

30m is a ridiculous amount of money, we only paid £19 million for Ruud and he was 24, Berbatov will be 27 at the end of the month.

I'm not saying Berbatov would be a bad buy, just I don't that kind of money is right for him.

I hope Bridge doesn't leave Chelsea. I think he is a great left back. He is good going forward, solid on the ball, and has a great cross on him. (not literally, as in, he doesn't have a huge wooden cross sitting on his head)

Anelka to Chelsea, I would be happy with that, better than Pizarro that's for sure. When Sheva is fit it will mean we have Kalou, Sheva and Anelka to choose from up front before Drogba is back :)

I reckon Drogba and Anelka would make a great partnership.

As for Ivanovic, I honestly have never heard of him, but I heard he is good so I don't mind. The only thing is, do we really need 5 defenders fighting for one position? All International starters as well!!!

ROFL :D

I think everyone knew you didn't mean that.

Except set up the goal.

He got one knock down in 90 minutes.

"The visitors had scored 11 goals in their previous two games but they posed little threat for long periods."

Here is the minute by minute report from sportinglife.com, ive pulled every quote containing his name in it from the report:

44 mins Shot by Dimitar Berbatov (Tottenham) drilled right-footed from right channel (12 yards), save (caught) by Scott Carson (Aston Villa).

53 mins Foul by Dimitar Berbatov (Tottenham) on Martin Laursen (Aston Villa). Direct free kick taken right-footed by Scott Carson (Aston Villa) from own half, resulting in open play.

79 mins Goal by Jermain Defoe (Tottenham) volleyed right-footed (bottom-right of goal) from centre of penalty area (6 yards).Aston Villa 1-1 Tottenham. Assist by Dimitar Berbatov (Tottenham) from centre of penalty area.

87 mins Foul by Dimitar Berbatov (Tottenham) on Gareth Barry (Aston Villa). Direct free kick taken right-footed by Scott Carson (Aston Villa) from own half, resulting in open play.

So in 90 minutes, 1 shot, one assist (which was a misdirected header) and two fouls.

which shows he was really putting himself about.
20 million quid?
30 million quid?

Even when Rooney is having an absolute MARE he does more than that.

25 august 2007-
"The club has categorically not made a bid for Dimitar Berbatov," said chief executive David Gill.

Hes not someone we need especially not for that kind of moneyfor a 27 year old, 20/25 mil + Wes Brown

No thanks, too much like RvN for my liking, he would slow our play up

To be fair to the dude who's saying it, hes a West Ham fan and the bloke he knows works for one of the big tabloids, hes been right on numerous occasions and was bang on throughout the Tevez saga and knew what was going on before anyone else

He said something about Bent going to West Ham was a done deal until MU came in for Berb and they pulled the plug on the deal

Spurs supposedly lining up Hutton for £8m: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/r/rangers/7170640.stm

Looked very good what little I saw of him this season. Chimbonda hasn't been playing all that great over the last year and gives the impression that he cares more about himself than the club.

If true then I guess Spurs might look to recoup some cash from somewhere...

Mmmm i had a feeling that we had lined up Hutton if the rumours of Brown + cash for Berbatov was true
