January Transfer Window

VDS was outstanding for us last season (as was Gary Neville who was only injured at the very end of the season).

Firstly i was having a laugh, secondly it was not a vote for the season but the year (which is why Berbatov shouldn't have been in the side) and finally they weren't the best players in there positions for the year.

Centre Half is at Anfield tomorrow for talks.

A 'top prospect' and will cost us 8 million providing he agrees terms/passes medical

;)

You can quote me on this...

You've got to tell us who it is now :)

edit\ just seen the thread on rawk. You really taking that thread 100% seriously?

Where else have you seen it then? And it is Garay?

It is Garay yeah.

No smoke without fire imo.

Heard an interview the other day with Balague about Rafa's interest in him.

Liverpool Daily Post have mentioned the story. http://www.liverpooldailypost.co.uk...ntine-defender-ezequiel-garay-64375-20104132/

I also have another source who scouts for the toon, which is slightly far fetched but involves us cooling our interest in Steven Taylor due to our interest in an Argentine centre half.

Then this thread on RAWK

May not be right but it's all a bit too coincidental.

So that thread on rawk is the only thing saying anything about any move tomorrow?

Not enough to totally convince me but i hope its true.

Yeh, the RAWK story is the only thing that says tomorrow.

But all the other factors point to a January move which suggests it's imminent.

It's unlikely we'll be wanting to wait around for Garay with the interest from the Mancs etc.

I'm glad Hutton has rejected Spurs as I would like to see him at Man Utd. Granted he isn't the best defender but similarly to Evra (who was rubbish when he first signed) this part if his game can be developed and he is also already excellent going forward. He has plenty pace as well to get him out of trouble if needed. It would good to see Hutton/Evra on either wing :)

He isn't worth £8M though thats the Scottish press hyping him up.

If he was going anywhere, i`d prefer it was MAN U as i feel SAF is possibly the best candidate to improve Hutton.

I also don`t mean to sound disrespectful to the likes of Spurs etc but Hutton has now tasted the CL and put in some very impressive performances so i think it he was to enhance his career, he`d need to move to a club that was in the CL most seasons and with every chance of winning it. The way it stands, he plays in front of 50,000 fans every second week, plays CL football and plays for the club he adores. Why swap that for Spurs?.

Johnny Evans off to Sunderland on loan until the end of the Season. Skysports are also reporting that John Terry might be out for the remainder of the season

Cracking rumour of the day is Ferguson looking at the Liverpool situation with Mascherano, he is apparently wanting to re-unite Mascherano with Tevez.

If we did get him then it would spell the end for Carrick who hasn't performed anywhere near the level he set last season. Mascherano would be excellent backup or rotation for Hargreaves, Anderson and Scholes, so it would be a good move, but not for the £17m being touted. £10-£12m at most and whatever we get back from Carrick which I'd guess to be ~£8-£10m.

Cant see it happening myself, first of all Mascherano has said if he leaves Liverpool it wont be for an english club. Second, there's no way he'd go to united to play backup for Hargreaves/Anderson/Scholes, he'd be looking for first team football. And finally, you'd never get him for £10-12m so i cant see you spending another £17m on another DMF when you have already spent £36m on two others.

And regardless of all that and the various rumours, i'm pretty sure Mascherano will be signed by Liverpool permanently anyway.

Fine so long as Brown or anyone else important doesn't leave. Think Fergie has realised that the return of Park means we have a few handy wingers, leaving Ronaldo to play upfront if ever needed.
