My Windows XP allows me FULL 'unquestioned' access to ALL windows updates... Thats all im gonna say :D

EDIT: it isnt crack'ed or modded in any way

I honestly don't understand what is so good about having a unlicensed copy of Windows to the point where some people are practically saying, "I am just so cool because I am using an unlicensed copy of Windows". :(

I don't think that it's just they stopped letting me reinstall my old xp (legal) disk, so when i got my new pc i couldn't really afford a couple of hundred quid for windows so got it illegally.

Although I'm now just waiting to see how the new update for the 64x is working for games etc. then i will be buying it.

genuine means you can get windows genuine updates ( which many craked etc windows can ) licensed mean it a legal copy. i think anyway.

Isn't just talking about piracy not tolerated on ocuk?

Okay well lets just say, on some scene sites I know, there's a key you can use for your windows xp pro that passes through genuine advantage always and offers no problems at all with updates/software. As it aint blacklisted, you get a windows with a regular cracked key, you do all the activation stuff, then you use a keychanger to change to the keys on some scene tracker sites, and you have a legal windows that passes genuine checks and is not blacklisted.

Vista is altogether a different story, there's a version out there that doesn't eed activation, not even input a cd key, it passes all WGA checks, doesn't whine about hardware changes, well just behaves like a legal Vista only better as no activation at all needed.

Or so I've heard ;).


Am I allowed to say this or not ? I don't know and want to remove it if I can't say this ?

bios crack Microsoft confirmed that the crack worked before release, however this is fixed in sp1.

You could have a cracked version of Windows and if you don't get Windows Genuine Advantage notifications then you may think it's genuine. But it's not and is most defiently unlicensed.

Depends on what you say really. This is general discussion so should be fine.

Ok, so there are VLKs out there that still aren't banned by MS, and there are ways around WGA notifications but that doesn't affect the definition of Genuine ;)
