hardocp 3870x2 review up

im with you on this one, TWO 3870s competative with a single 8800GTX, well woopdedo, thats shocking considering how old the 8800GTX is now, never wanted to say this but NVIDIA are the obvious choice for GFX cards at the moment, can't see any reason anyone would go with AMD?

Erm maby because we look at price and performance and realise that really their offerings arn't bad and hell their drivers are pretty good too.

Should be as fast as crossfire in like everything crossfire works in but it dont look like that.

I think it will settle to be the same as 2x 3870's. I can't see why not.

I missed your post about my MSN IM and I do have it. It's just that I'm on it about once a blue moon :). I'll catch you on there soon though as I'll make time to pop in.

funny how everyone said if it was over £300 they wouldn't get it and it came in just under that.

muppets advertised their price for all to see

50 quid under and hmmm maybe, but if its loud its not worth anything over 220 unless all you use is headphones and ear plugs when you dont use headphones.

I have to say I'm quite impressed with the performance reports so far personally, looks like it could be a nice card for the money. Can't help but feel it's been a little rushed though, even though the NDA was moved forward. Perhaps there's more potential for the card yet.

I won't be buying one just yet. I only game at 1680 x 1050 so my little old 3870xt will have to push the pixels for a couple of months yet!

For performance excelling that of an ultra which costs £370? I would say nope.

I would, when you can buy 2x single 3870's cheaper than that that are the same, which is what i would do, i wouldn't care that the X2 was only on 1x PCB, you can get the same card on 2x PCB's, same performance for less.

I would, ehen you can buy 2x single 3870's cheaper than that that are the same, which is what i would do, i wouldn't care that the X2 was only on 1x PCB, you can get the same perforamnce out of 2x 3870's for less.

Then what hapens if quad crossfire comes out and lays the boot into everything? Sell the regular 3870 and take a large loss? No thx, this way im getting crossfire performance and i can add to it if it proves to be worthwhile down the line.

Then you buy another 2x 3870's, then you have same again for cheaper, yor gona save about £80 by buying 4x cards over 2x, £80 is a lot to some ppl. :)

See to be fair the £300 price right now is clearly a premium while OCuK is the only place with stock atm! All I can say is the £270 definitely isn't inaccurate
