Good weekend of televised football from Sky for once.

No Torres/Alonso for Liverpool and Mascherano has been over the other side of the world playing. They'll do well to get something out of Chelsea, who have Lampard fit again apparantly.

No Rooney or Evra for United. Expecting the following team:

VdS
Brown - Ferdinand - Vidic - O'Shea
Nani - Scholes - Carrick - Giggs
Ronaldo - Tevez

Would play Anderson but since neither Scholes or Carrick played in midweek I expect Fergie to select those two. Possibility of Neville making the bench.

United will be wearing the following kit on Sunday:

No Terry, Essien, Drogba, Kalou or Shevchenko (good, good..) still for Chelsea but with Carvalho, Mikel and possibly Lamps back we're not far away from a full squad. If we can beat Liverpool and stay in touch with the leaders I'll be delighted we've got through the rubbish 6 weeks or so we've had relatively unscathed, a draw or loss would pretty much be the end of any faint PL hopes, for both teams;)

They are aren't they? I remember reading something a while ago about Ronaldo having black boots made for this match.

Its going to be a difficult game for us at the weekend, especially with no Torres (and a few more that were likely to play: Arbeloa, Aurelio, Agger, Alonso and possibly Babel & Lucas).

Had Alonso not been suspended i'd have imagined we'd have gone with a 5 man midfield with Gerrard off the front, but with Alonso being out i can't see any other way but to play 4-4-2:

Reina
Finnan Carra Hyypia Riise
Pennant Gerrard Mascherano Kewell/Benayoun
Kuyt Crouch

We've not got any pace up front to play on the break so we're going to have to take the game to Chelsea and try to get Pennant on the ball as much as possible (like we did at Anfield last season).

Is anyone here going to the Man Utd vs Man City game. Would be nice to meet up with acouple of you for a can or 2 in the Bishops.

I am working on sunday :( I am the only man utd fan in my work place, and all the neutrals have it off :(
I hope it will be an occassion to remember for its positives, and that the memory of those taken will be respected brilliantly as expected.

Ps. That is a brilliant picture, where it could quite have easily have featured - ronaldo, anderson, rooney and tevez.
The correct choice was made :)

Woodgate is suspended and it looks like King is going to be rested for Spurs. Dawson and Huddlestone the likely back 2 although he may be pushed into midfield with Kaboul given another chance. Similarly Lee could return to LB with Chimbonda pushed to CB.

Probable line-up

--------------Cerny-------------
Hutton--Dawson--Huddlestone--Chimbonda
Lennon--Jenas--O'Hara--Malbranque
--------Berbatov--Keane--------

villa V the toon,

Newcastle really need these 3 points imo, of course it's a very hard game and 1 point would be ok. But we just need to put some distance between us and the relegation zone. Few hard matches coming up for us now

I have a funny feeling we'll balls it. (Villa, that is)

No Gabby will be quite a loss, but I'm often proven wrong, so we'll see.
I've gone for a Newcastle win. Strugglers in dire need of a win, against high-flyers, challenging for Europe. Only one outcome, right? ;)

11 players unlikely to feature for Blackburn!!

Fixed. With the amount of injuries & suspensions we've got at the minute, and our lack of activity in the transfer window last month (thankyou board) i'm expecting a defeat on monday, nothing too humiliating hopefully :(.

Probably have to start Derbyshire on the wing again due to MGP's yellow card last week for assaulting Artetas hands with his neck. I think both Reid and Dunn are out too leaving us with the comedy genius that is Aaron Mokoena and Tugay (who cant last a full match atm) holding up the midfield.

Fingers crossed we can pull something out of the bag but im not expecting miracles.

Will Derbyshire play though if his wife starts popping the little ones out?

Both sides could be understrength, hek Wenger is talking about getting a plane in to fly Toure back! (No mention of Eboue :))
