Should I trade in my 360s?

Actually, I'd say it was the opposite.
The persons who's opinion I respect the most is Kreeeee and he feels much the same way as me, Wyrdo and McDaniel (who also owns both). The Xbox360 is a better games machine.
I can think of several others too.

Not really i own both and i much prefer PS3, no way live is worth it plus imo the exclusives this year look so much better on PS3. The 360s back catalogue is alright and i like the pad but PS3 is so much sleeker + i much prefer xmb to the gashdash + additional features such as blu-ray wifi card readers etc. etc. are most beneficial especially with blu-ray capacity for games.

Also brought a Wii today yaaay !! Only got Wii sports and play can anyone recommend any good games??

Secondly if you can not see the difference on your 32 LG from dvd and blu-ray then i would get rid of your LG m8

I can see the difference between the two formats (though I've not made any comparison personally). I just don't think my cheapish 32" tv is suited for a next gen media. I'd really want to open up my wallet to appreciate it more.

The price of the media and the player just doesn't make any financial sense to me when I can still get a great picture from DVD's.

me with a 32" Mirai HDTV - and i tell you now blu-ray or HD-DVD is a lot better picture quality even on this "ghettoing" lol HDTV

Yeah, I know. I never stated I could not tell the difference between SD and HD.

And to clear something up.. reading my post back, it looks like my comment about "ghettoing it" could be taken as an insult. That was not my intent, and it could have been worded better.

as for standlone players why would i want another blu-ray player when i have one in my PS3 thats actually been classed as rather good and totally upgradable via firmware?......so your arguement has "no real weight" for the majority

I was taking about people who are really into their home setups. I can't see them as being happy with a PS3 for a BluRay player, it simply doesn't offer the features or quality standalones do.

And how has Blu-Ray capacity benefitted a PS3 game yet? Nearly all major releases are on both consoles, so the games have to fit on DVD9. Blu-Ray capacity has been used so far to cover issues relating to the BR drives slow read speed.

The XMB is nice, especially with new themes (and I previously wasn't a fan), but the Xbox360's dashboard is also nice, just different. I prefer the usage of the 360 dash being able to alter settings in-game, but I prefer the PSN store to Xbox Live Marketplace for example.

Blu-Ray is nice, but of little benefit to gamers, it's a media format and for that it's brilliant. Wi-Fi again is nice, but not needed by a lot of people who would just use ethernet ports. It's easy to use it as a positive when the 360 doesn't use it from scratch.

Describing the Xbox360's back catalogue as 'alright' is madness. It's got the 2 previous games of the year exclusively (GRAW and BioShock) as well as a massive proportion of the better cross-format games and over the last year the PS3 was out, the stronger exclusives.

The PS3 does have a strong line-up of exclusives coming, but I'll be damned if I get pulled into the hype of MGS4 and FF13 when I've found several of series prior to this one massively over-hyped disappointments, neither living up to their original appearances on the Sony consoles. HOME is very promising, and people are getting excited about LBP (not me, I'm really not convinced people will play it longer than a couple of days, but I've been wrong a couple of times before :p).

The PS3 is a sleeker machine, so it's nice in your front room, but when you're playing games it wouldn't matter if it was the ugliest console in the world. It didn't harm the PS2, did it? :).

Even its not fully utilized yet for games it wont be long at all until the extra space is needed! I couldnt imagine GT5 or MGS being on DVD tbh and a game like GT5 wouldnt work on multiple disks. The slow BR speeds is also a myth imo, its not even noticably slower in comparison to the 360, maybe a few seconds, and thats before harddrive installs, people see 2x a pressume its slow when its actually 72mbps.

I dont see how Blu-ray isnt beneficial for gamers?? Yea its a media format but its also offers a 50Gb of capacity for games! Compression just isnt gonna be enough soon and I aint a fan of multiple disks!

There are only a few exclusives that I liked, Gears which is now on PC, Saints Row and Halo (which was pretty poor in comparison to the 1st 2). Kameo was alright as was Forza 2 but thats seriously it. Bioshock apart from being on the PC was boring as hell and GRAW was also PC. There are a few bad ports but there aint THAT many. :)

I don't think you have much knowledge on disc compression, DVD9 isn't quite at the limit yet and compression is getting better. As for Blu-Ray, 2x IS an issue, which is the reason behind the PS3's HDD installs which are necessary, just look at DMC's 20-minute install.

All the ports are inferior bar Assassins Creed, Call of Duty 4, Burnout Paradise, Devil May Cry 4 and DiRT. I can count them currently on one hand. Whilst it's no doubt that they are a lot better now, I think it will be common now for them to be equal, but that's not the fact for previous releases over the last 12-months.

Most games have the install options to reduce loading times further, not because its too slow in the first place! A 20-min install for DMC means literally no loading screens which is highly benefical for that type of game. I didnt notice any difference in loading times in COD 4.

And as so many 360 fanboys use to state there werent that many titles released in the first 12 months of the PS3s life, so you can probably count the bad ports on one hand as well!

No, what they said was, there weren't many exclusive PS3 titles released and of those, very few were good.

There were plenty of cross-platform games.

just get a PS3, because mainly everyone who has both consoles prefears the ps3, its fact really. Unless you like Halo3
I've got both and the 360 has the far superior game library at the moment. If I had to make do with only one it would have to be the 360 (I haven't even played Halo 3 btw) even with it's flaws (nosie, reliability, paying for multiplayer).

A soon as it has the games the PS3 is a clear winner - until then it is completely the opposite.

This time next year i expect my 360's to gather the dust normally reserved for my PS3. As a piece of hardware the PS3 has so much added value its unreal (pity games playing isnt one of em at the mo)

I have to say, pretty much everyone I know in real life who has both consoles prefers the PS3 to the 360 also. So he's not alone.

To early to say yet i only got my ps3 yesterday but so far it seems exellent , the system is quiet both console & drive compared to 360 but the 360 marketplace does seem better but i would say online play is the same on both consoles but with the advantage of the ps3 online being free ;) .

I believe Final Fantasy XIII will be the first game that 'NEEDS' Blu-Ray or HD-DVD, and this is the reason I have always known it would be PS3 exclusive, despite people rumouring it being multi-plat.

If you look at FFXII, they had to severely compress the audio to fit it onto the PS2 DVD and it sounds awful.

Yes they could split it over several discs, but Square-Enix haven't done that on a FF since IX to my knowledge and god knows how many DVD's they would need to use.

But agreed, Blu-Ray hasn't seen any advantage over DVD9 just yet.

It doesn't need Blu-Ray though, obviously. They could just do a Lost Odyssey and split it over 4 discs :p

It's a benefit that you don't have to change discs of course, but that's it. I know if I had the choice I'd rather not have to swap discs mid game.

I read that it made the load times about 4 seconds, compared to the 360's 5 seconds.

Blu-ray is quicker than your dvd9 in the inner regions of your disc. So that makes even LESS space for your quicker precious dvd format. To try an argue that dvd has an advantage in any way is just stupid.

Even if they had to double up data two fold thats still 25gb of space baby.

I'm only guessing, but I think FFXIII would take up more than 4 discs, and its something SE just don't seem fond of doing.
