Dear Microsoft

no offence but its not great accomplishment to microsoft to have their consoles still working. They all (witihin reason) should still be working.

None taken, good point though.
360 is the only thing I have ever taken an extended warranty out on! (although I think it was only £30 for 3 years)

Dear Microsoft,

Try harder to justify the asking price for gold subscription
Apart from that, I like my xbox and I'm still getting all the multiplatform games for it. Please don't make it explode though. There's only so many Xboxen I'm willing to go through.

Dear Microsoft,
I really can't pay bothered paying for your online service, just to lose faith in humanity when American kids join the game.
My console still works, and I enjoy using it, thanks for this.

Could you just let us upgrade our own hard-disks? I refuse to be shafted paying your prices and <20gb is not so great...

3 years ago Xbox Live was great but now its mostly a lag fest.
I was also wondering as i pay £40 a year for P2P gaming
would it be to much to ask for a new demo as there
hasnt been one for 3 weeks.
Halo 3 would be a good start as you've made your billions out of it
and I'd like to sample the demo please.
also while i am here could you personal deliver a new console
to my door as my 5th one is starting to make some odd noises
and as you well know you gimp its only a matter of time before it
self destructs.
apart from that i love the Xbox360. ;)

anyone else want to write a virtual letter to mr gates? lol

Dear moving tables
each sentance
does
not require
a new
line

What lag?
I share the OP's concerns. XBL is a heap of **it since the fall update. On most occasions where I haven't got the ethy cable yanked out of my 360 XBL can be fine upon accessing the marketplace but on other occasions its just a slow sludgefest seeing that '360 hourglass' constantly. Does my nut in when you simply want to see whats new out there.

It's still clear that the Xmas issues with XBL haven't completely gone away. Either that or the fall update and the new dashboard UI elements are accessing data in a completely different way to how they used to. Either way I find it pita on occasions.

It's not my isp either.

Dear Microsoft,

I hate you! I have always hated you ever since the early days of your crummy command line operating systems. You make me want to cry.

Joebob,

:p

P.S. Watch your back Microsoft because I know where you live ;)

Dear Mr Microsoft

Although your consoles weren't worth a pooh in the beginning year of release, Since your modified 360's hit the market, I've been very happy indeed. I would however like to ask you why the hell you have done the following.

Limited access to the 360 Hard Drive

Charged us for Gold Xbox lives gaming, When you personally provide nothing, That isn't available on the Silver for free.

I can however quite happily carry on streaming my media from the PC, and I can happily keep paying for my Live subscription. But sorting out drive access and Live costs, In the future, Would make me very happy.

Spanking You

Your B!tch, Mr Damned

Dear Mr. Gates,

Whilst at work in my shop it has come to my attention (as told by Mac Users) if I suggest anything made by Microsoft I obviously live in your pocket. As I often suggest your products am I able to live your pockets or if that is not possible can I live in a big tower full of gold like in the cartoon "Duck Tales".

Yours sincerely,

-tom1138

P.S I'd settle for a shed of gold if that is possible.

I own an xbox and have paid for xbox live for a few years without questioning it. I love the integration etc...

However, recently I have been questioning the 360 online stuff. My little brother got an xbox 360 for xmas (jammy sod, not in my day!) and he desperately wanted to get on live so he could play against me. This required a wireless adapter (no cables allowed) and a live subscription. It is only when you ask a 13 year old kid to pay close to £100 that you realise exactly how much money it costs...

I'm not saying its a poor service, the integration, friends list, demos etc are fantastic. However, playing your games online should be free (or substantially cheaper). Also, the wireless adapter should be much cheaper, £50-£60 is ridiculous!

that is all.

I was under the impression he was on about in game lag, not the dashboard performance.

I agree wireless adapter is a ripoff

I'm surprised some people say they don't or have never had any lag issues on XBL. Seeing as there were hundreds of threads and thousands of complaints about it not so long ago, with many of the posters being banned from the xbox forums etc...

Those issues around Christmas time were nothing to do with lag though...

I think everyone will agree wireless adapter and 120Gb HDD is a rip-off.
I was hoping with the Elite's price drop the HDD price would drop too :|

Dear Microsoft

I want you to reflect upon your decision to charge £40 for a years gold subscription to XBox live.

I pay £40 for a game that has a 5 hour single player campaign and is obviously geared for on-line play, but I can't play it online unless I stump up another £40 to your good selves, for doing nothing more than authenticating my bloody logon.

To justify the cost, I find I have been playing online for at least 3 hours a night, after getting in from the pub and now the wife is leaving me because I take her for granted and don't pay her any attention.

On second thoughts, have £100 and buy yourself something nice.

Cheers

This is a fictitious story, please don't tell my Mrs

Lol, you make it sound like every time you play on a PS3 there's a dedicated server. Reality check. Only a fraction of the PS3's games have dedicated servers (warhawk, R:FoM rank play), the vast majority are P2P ala 360 (Burnout: Paradise and COD4 for example).

And some new 360 games like Frontlines Fuel of War do have dedicated servers.

Take the horrendous latency issues just for starters. As a drone tech, for example, one of the most powerful elements of your arsenal is the ability to fly a drone close to an enemy and detonate it. But I played in games where it took a full second for that detonation command to make its way to the drone -- a command that in single-player mode is instantaneous. And of course, by that time, the targets are long dispersed.

This latency extends to all areas of the game, from basic shooting to vehicle use. There's nothing like unloading a full clip into an enemy's back only to have him turn around and insta-kill you with a melee attack...or trying to exit a near-dead vehicle, only to have it explode around you while the game's still processing your exit command.

Frontlines also suffers from some serious server-side issues, making joining matches -- especially the theoretically low-latency dedicated servers -- a complete crapshoot. The game does support 50-player matches...but only on the developer-hosted servers, which are the most unreliable when attempting to join. In fact, I was never able to get into one, and judging from the pages and pages of complaints on both the Xbox and Kaos forums, lots of other players are having the same problems.

So that's the result of 360 dedicated servers, yes really makes Sony look crap doesn't it? Actually, wasn't there a article in this very forum where it was said (by a XBL dude at MS) dedicated servers just wouldn't work with Live, making it next to useless? I'll see if I can dig it up... :)

Edit... Just searched for 'dedicated' and there's like loads and loads of pages :( If anyone remembers please linky.

Someone got owned

Think again.
