Football *Spoilers* 29th-30th March

I listened to the Chelsea game on the radio as I was playing golf and the atmosphere sounded great to me when we scored and for the first 25-30 mins or so, you could feel it got a bit nervy after that as 'Boro were getting back in to the game, but that's just normal when your team isn't playing well and you're frustrated, it's the same at every football ground I've been to.

I live round the corner from SB, and the crowd were VERY quiet compared to usual, maybe its because its on Sunday (with people working tomorrow) so there is less drinking before the game but I seriously thought Chelsea had drawn/lost because of the fans coming out being so quiet

Cool, does that mean that you would say that they are normally as noisy as any other crowd post match and do you live on the home fans or away fans route away from the ground?
As I said though, for at least the whole of the 2nd half it was a nervy, tense and below par performance which was reflected in the crowd's behaviour, that happens:)

Just came from the Newcastle Spurs match, unfortunately i was in the Spurs stands with a mate so my celebration was fairly quiet but was so good to get a good game in!

5 wins on the trot against Spurs and doubled them 2 seasons running, think its 16goals in 5 games against them! :)

Been saying that all year, i'd love someone to come in for the **** in the summer.

You can't complain about him this year to be fair.. He is our highest scoring player. He was a bit lazy at the start of the year, but I think Moyes has done some good and kicked him into gear.. If it wasn't for the Yak this year we would be nowhere near where we are the moment!

I like players with fight and heart he has none. He will just move on when the next offer comes in. The sooner the better. He doesn't finish anything like enough chances. He will get 3 now against bottom of the table opposition and hide against the better teams.

I think Azza was commenting on his cheating though whereas you've been moaning about his genuine footballing ability:)

Yeah he did that too against fiorentina, great big useless lump of bottler ;) As long as he doesn't take the penalties he tries to win, we should be fine.

Afonso Alves = The next Massimo Maccarone?

Hardly. He's hardly played for them, when he has he's looked great. He was unlucky today in hitting the woodwork twice and not scoring with a header that Carvalho blocked his view of.

Maccarone came from Serie B. Alves has an awesome scoring record and plays for Brazil.

Alvaro Arbeloa is convinced Liverpool teammate Fernando Torres deserves to be named Player of the Year ahead of Manchester United's 35-goal winger Cristiano Ronaldo.

The Spain fullback told liverpoolfc.tv: "Ronaldo's confidence level is so high everything he tries seems to come off and he is a step ahead of everyone else at the moment.

"Alex Hleb of Arsenal and Chelsea's Joe Cole have also caught my eye but Torres has been massive for us. He has created a lot of goals for himself and is on a par with the best and I am sure he will be voted Footballer of the Year ahead of Ronaldo.

"He is an idol who has earned his stripes, particularly at Anfield, where he has scored most of his goals."
lol,

when Chelsea win you can usually tell by how the crowd comes out of the stadium all boystrous and stuff so yeah like any other team

I have been in noisier graveyards compared to yesterday's crowd coming out

I live so close it doesnt make any difference, not only coming out hearing the crowd within the stadium easily from my flat, usually the result thru the match and afterwards its like a loudhailer :D

Just look how bad Evra and Vidic were when we signed them in January. Look at them now.

Too true ( and the quote from AA about Torres is worth a laugh or two- going to have to rub some pool fans at works noses in it sometime lol)

Torres is clearly a better player than Ronaldo. Given the fact 80% of his team mates are utter dross, what he has done at Liverpool is nothing short of a miracle. :)

He would have score 50 this season if he was in United's side.
