What video card can you recommend for my PS3 which would make GTA4 run properly (<£100). Can I overclock it to get decent framerates when in a big crash or chase?

I am not used to games descending into slideshows when the action gets bad as it is really annoying. Is this usual for console owners?

I love the term 'slideshow', especially when it's not the case for GTA4. It may have dips, but not enough to make it a bad game.

Ok ok slideshow not quite but its still poor.

I am disappointed by it really. Burnout looks amazing always at 60fps no matter what huge amount of crashes you get on the screen. The control of Nico is poor compared to Uncharted too, he feels slow and unresponsive. These games are obviously smaller in scope than GTA4 but it is a letdown for probably the most anticipated game ever.

Serves you right for buying an inferior product....cough ps3.:D

Take any specific part of a GTA game and you will find other games that do it better, mostly because that's the whole game in many cases.

GTA has always been more than the sum of it's parts.

Get a 360 then and stop whining.

Lol, how can you even compare the amount of things going on in Burnout to GTA? :D Still don't understand how people expect a game like GTA to run at a silky smooth framerate, we would need a massive step backwards in graphical quality for that.

Personally I found the controls on Uncharted to be very loose, great game but they weren't the best.

nice one for setting the fanboys off

its a console - you should know that it uses old pc tech - a ps3 is not a £2000 gaming rig - the price and performance reflects that.

Mine was fine, I am wondering if this is TV related more than console as there seems to be so much varying results for both platforms.
I don't think it's down to TV's/consoles, it's more to do with people expectations and what they would personally class as good.

It's fine for me also on the 360, but the fact remains it's not great.

apparently the ps3 version is made a lot worse if its being upscaled to 1080p. people are reporting a much better picture @ 720p, even on 1080p tv's. its something im going to investigate a bit later

and more to the point - its a GTA game!

they have never had good framerates or good draw distances

why even compare it to uncharted?

its a completley different game
