£££ Rockband- Unofficial thread £££

Z5500's are great for most games and movies but a decent £180 separate component system would blow them away for music.
 
It's OK, when anyone even thinks about Z-5500's Kreeee has to tell everyone how crap they are for music.

I wasn't get carried away, I genuinely thought it had been posted in the wrong section or you though the pricing people mentioning was in reference to z5500's.

I'm not bothered like some on how good they are for music compared to seperates I got mine new for free and no amount of bought seperates can beat free in my eyes ;) I only got mine for gaming anyway and limited music use. Most of the time they are MP3's so i'm really not worried about quality :D

This is how you start getting carried away. I love my Z5500's but it's true that they are pap for music.

Z-5500 sound fine for music to me, haven't got much to compare them to apart from my Sennheiser 595's, though I only listen to music using my PC and my sound card might be a reason why I think they are fine.
 
I can't see the point, when the drums will be boring for me, as i already play drums? and can stcik on a PA to jam along to fav tracks, i can't sing and dont want to and if i wanted to play guitar on a game i'd buy Guitar Hero

I'd probably end up breaking the kit anyhow looks so fragile.
 
I've already got the USA version (and a USA 360) and it cost me £90 so I don't need to worry about the instruments. If the track listing and resulting DLC is much different I might pick up the UK copy of the game as well :) Would sure be easier being able to spend all the points on my UK Live account instead of having to buy US point codes from an auction site.

OT, But, how do you like the 595's mate? I am going to be getting some soon to hook up to my JVC SU-DH1.

Freaking awesome!

I haven't got my headphone amp though so my opinion will change in a week or so, but they sound great through my PC and iPod for music and even better for gaming.

Haven't watched any movies yet with them though, anyway they sound really clear and have quite a bit of bass, oh and they are so bloody comfortable. You also get a nice headphone stand that can attach to your desk or so with them, definitely recommended. :D
 
Just so everyone knows, there's no hyperspeed, and the timing window is as tight as GH2's, so Hammer on's and Pull offs are a lot harder to hit than on GH3.

Whats hyperspeed, the general stuff i've read on the achievement sites seem to think Rockband is easier than GH3 by some margin.
 
Hyperspeed makes the notes appear more spread out. Theyt still have the same time gap, but the notes come at you quicker. Enter OBOYOBOY in the cheat menu and it'll unlock.

As for people saying RB is easier, the charts are easier as there's less use of 3 note chords which infested GH3, and chords in general. Some of the songs are rock hard though, check out Thrasher or Green Grass and High Tides on expert.
