Performance is really smooth now, laggyness has definitely gone for me. Sinny FOTD has been fixed![]()
trying to log in now and I am authenticating okay, but get the message cannot connect to the character server.
Anyone else getting this?
you can check the stats of the armour. some of it has defence rating of 1.3% but other bonuses along with it, like additional 45.5 more health or 1% slashing protection or something like that. a higher level white piece may be worse (as in less additional bonuses) but have more defence protection than the green bit 5 lvls below you. then it's up to you to decide if you want more defence or the additional bonuses.
Same here
Presumably on a X1950 there's really little point bothering getting this yet?
I had a X1950 and it was really painful. I ended up upgrading to a 8800GT.
This makes me even more confused. You're saying that I should make the choice based on the stats alone, where as I was expecting an additional armour rating in addition to the stats. From what you're saying a piece of armour that has no stats is effectively useless. i.e. a level 20 vendor purchased grey item, versus a level 5 green drop with stats associated. Logic says that the level 20 should be better, but I can't tell as there's no base armour rating. If the grey vendor purchased item was level 8 and not level 20, then yes they would be close (grey level 8 ~= green level 5).
Perhaps I'm just looking at it all wrong, but the manuals not very clear either
Are there any good database websites online yet that can show me what weapons and armour are available and what to aim for from quests or instances?
YOu've been playing too many MMOs: logic ACTUALLY dictates that the piece of armour with the highest +defense rating is the one providing the greater protection, regardless of its level requirement, vendor you got it from or colour/rarity. There's no hidden numbers afaik. This makes me even more confused.
