Age of Conan

You need one more point in a tier 2 feat.

So you will need to have spent five points for each level of tier you want to train, minus 5. So for example if you want the tier 7 feat Spell Vital Shock you need to have spent 30 points in that tree. Which you could for example spend all in the first 4 tier of feats, skipping tier 5 and 6 feats altogether and still train a tier 7 feat. As long as you also meet it's level requirement.

eg Feat tree example. Just random skills btw I don't play a ToS :)

Basically you need to have one more feat point in Spell Storm Crown to make Wrath of The Serpent Ring available.

Damn I suck at explaining things.

Hi all Im a bit of a noob to RPGs.

http://feats.goonheim.com/tempestofset/2084

Im trying to train the wrath of the serpent ring but cant. I have 2 points to use.

Any help would be great

Thanx

How'd you mean, ingame or on tha feat calculator?

EDIT: ah wrath not power. Yea you need 10 points in the thunder tree, you've got 5/5 growing storm, 3/3 power of serpent ring, 1/3 storm crown. So need to put another point somewhere.

ok i think i get what you mean. you mean that a lvl 10 set of armour gives a set amount of protection (the base rating) and you want to compare that with another set of armours base rating? is that right?

each set of armour has a defence rating - 0.5% or whatever, so that can be compared across different armour sets. the better armour (green or rare) tends to have additional benefits along with the defence rating. a higher level armour may have a higher defence rating, but may not have anything else (knockback resistance for example).

if there are any hidden stats, or stats that dictate how effective a piece of armour is, i've not found it in game (which is i guess what you're asking). sorry if it's not, i'm confused too now :p

YOu've been playing too many MMOs: logic ACTUALLY dictates that the piece of armour with the highest +defense rating is the one providing the greater protection, regardless of its level requirement, vendor you got it from or colour/rarity. There's no hidden numbers afaik.

Thanks guys, I think the +defence rating is what I've been looking for. Can't remember seeing it on greys, but it must be there from what you say. This must be the base armour rating that applies to all items in the game that I've been looking for.

If anyone is having performance issues like me (Not performing very well considering hardware) try this:

Login, set it to high graphical preset, then back to low. From there change what you want such as AA, texture res...etc

I did this and it more than doubled my FPS.

Basically I logged in with more or less absolute lowest settings, getting around 15-30 fps. Then I set it to the high preset then back to low, and my FPS shot up to 50. From there I enabled AA, put textures on high, enabled AF, and it runs at 30-45 fps, way better than it did even with far lower settings.

I posted it in the OOC channel and other people said it worked for them also.

It looks and runs better than it ever has for me. Not sure if you have to do this every time you login, will try and find out now.

Something else that greatly improved my performance was re-setting the graphics drivers in RivaTuner. I was about to stop playing before I came accross this fix.

Was it worth the upgrade??? i may need to do the same.
I don't understand why people are needing to upgrade their graphics - I play on a slightly overclocked X1800XT, with the settings on Medium, and the only time it slows down is when I have loads happening (or running through Tarantia). I'm thoroughly enjoying myself and enjoying the graphics.

edit: ok, I admit, I turned the grass off :D

The game is undoubtedly still being optimised, especially for Ati cards, so guys please hold off a bit before spending £100 on a new card!

ATI and Nvidia are both bringing out new cards next month, so not a good time to buy anyway. And for once the ATI card is rumoured to be a proper challenger, rather than a half assed keep up effort.

says this on the forums

Bad FPS - possible Video Card driver issue

It helped players who experienced bad FPS to re-install the latest drivers for their video cards. This also helped when the most recent driver was already installed and got re-installed)

Sounds good, i just hope they have got rid of that stupid Catalyst software.....

I'm getting lots of shader and player popup even with my 8800GTX. Is anyone else having this? I'm using 8xQAA enhancing 2x in game, which probably isnt helping but I doubt that would effect the shader loading much. Do people with GT/GTS's experience this?

Anyone got a guide on how to set up a battlekeep/guild city,

My guild have just hit 50 members and got a few over 40, lots of us are collecting resources. But as the GL i don't really get the whole guild city thing :S

You need plans, resources and then an architect.

My char :p Running mostly low settings, textures on high, 8xAF, 2xAA.

Hopefully they'll fix this strange performance issue which means I have to change and change back settings every so often to get a decent FPS. After performing the change to get my FPS up it seems to gradually decrease back to how it was, really low, so I have to do it every so often to keep my FPS up. Other people have reported this also on the AoC forums so something is definitely wrong.
