Age of Conan

I played WoW on release, and This just after release...

Must admit Conan is the better game from a early perspective, im only lvl 17 but bloody love it :)

Not sure how you work that out! WoW wasn't quite as buggy and broken in PVP as this is.

I can't stand the Conan setting and characters, but that's a subjective standpoint.

Am I right in thinking that once I get to Tarantia, the quest givers don't have any vocal chords any more? I get the text, just no speech. I take it this is right?

All i can say is guys, dont rush to level 80, as theres nothing to do. A guildy has already re-rolled a new char.

Most of the level 80 content is bugged or broken:
Instances - When you release you end up back where you have your potal set. Some of the instances are silly hard. Some bosses didnt drop loot also.
PVP - not meny level 80's, serious balance problems etc.
Crafting - is bugged to hell and back!
Guild City - Does nothing at the min... whats the point ?
Grinding for cash - Very few good camps to grind at higher levels and are mostly camped by people leveling.

So the choice is, go ganking on a pvp server, re-roll, or help other guild mates grind through the last of quests.

Sounds typical, I'm glad I didnt buy this game on release - I'll wait 2-3 months & listen to peoples opinions then. :p

PvP in this game is pretty tedious.. Its really hard to actually hit people with combos because they just sprint away.

That's why you have stuns, knockdowns, and the option to attack from hiding :)
I can't say I've figured it out yet myself but in general I don't have much problem with casters - tanks give me a much harder time cause they resist my knockbacks. And even when a caster does manage to break away and get some distance to nuke me from, I get to finish him off with No Escape which is the coolest skill ever! :p

I'm sorry that it all comes back to WoW, but months after its release, the first guild that took down Magmadar (the second boss in Molten Core that very rapidly became a joke of a raid instance) got banned for publishing strats on the internet. How things changed with WoW and how they will change with AoC.

Why did they get banned? Sorry, never played WoW but it seems incredible that a games company would clamp down on people giving out strategies for hteir games!

That's not true tbh.
