Who has the best army in the world?

Did anyone see the rare video footage of SAS/SBS at the Taliban prison uprising? Have a search on youtube, Qal a Jangi or something. Anyways, a small group suppressed hundreds of taliban then called in air strikes. Sadly on of the guys died during a holiday in Greece :(

This entire US V UK is ridiculas, no army has the logistics to attack the UK, not even the US, we would enialate their fleet before it got close to our waters, and without air support their long range bombers would be easy targets.

what? how would we, their carriers could fight off the raf no problem then just sit in the Atlantic and fire missiles at us from the other side of Ireland if they liked.

Aren't the new ones we've signed up for coded and we have to ask for the codes?

But anyway, they still have enough ammunition to beat us back to last century. We don't have enough forces let alone enough long range missiles to take them on.

Sounds like the incident of the UK buying Chinook helicopters from the US but not getting the security codes to start them, then the US saying No you can't have the codes.

The english.
All other armys are too reliant on weapons, us, we'll kick the enemy to death if we have to.

Pitty there isn't an English army.

I'm no expert but couldn't our missiles destroy their fleet? They could fire missiles at us from the US, as we could fire missiles at them from the UK. As I said no army is capable to attack us.

no because with that many ships there is an insane amount of anti missile defense whole ships dedicated too it on top of every ships own defenses.

They could easily destroy the RAF, and then there is nothing to stop a naval invasion. (short of nukes but that would just mean they'd nukes us to a Gobi desert like state.)

Plus we have no ground launched tomahawks neither do they (old nuclear treaties) so once they take out the navy + RAF we have nothing to fire back at them aside from artillery.

That's what ze Germans thought at the Battle of Britain!

yeah but at this point it's less about pilot skill and more about how many long rage missiles you can fire and how good your jamming and stealth are.

The combat trials and excersises that the F-22's have been in show how much the plane affects things now.

Hiroshima, Nagasaki........ London.

And that was 1945.

eh?

You do realise that those bombs were merely dropped by the USAF, but developed by the Canada, the UK and the USA, and 30 different sites across all 3 countries.

Infact if you look at most famous US military projects, they would not have been possible without British research......

Here's an interesting question...

Say a foreign power, not the USA as their our supposedly best friends, but someone else, attacked the UK in an all our war, would our European "friends step in and help us?

We couldn't annihilate their fleet. Perhaps 2-3 Battlegroups if we are lucky (The RN is better than the US-N) however if you are talking about the whole fleet - you are miss guided.

Yes. I'm not too sure on Germany, they seem to only take part in peacekeeping crap these days. They are actively scared to fire bullets in anger anymore.

France would I believe, as Britain would be a good stepping stone onto the french continent.

NATO would hopefully kick in.

depends how the enemy planed to get here, the most suitable way is through our European friends ;)

Meat shields *** :p

but yeah I reckon at a minimum they would at least provide anti air + aid over their countries and across the channel.

But do any of the euro's even have navies anymore?

France if the only other European country with a Navy to talk about, but it's a bit budget and useless if you look at it closely.

^ Not at all.

The French battlegroup under the Carrier Charles De Gaul. (heap of ****, constantly in dry dock). The french lineup also includes:

one Rubis Class SSN
two anti-submarine destroyers
one or two anti-air destroyers
one frigate in forward patrol
one supply ship

The Spannish battlegroup under Principe de Asturias.

Italians have Giusseppe Garibaldi carrier heading their fleet. Not quite a battlegroup though.

All of the above including the UK are awaiting the arival of new carriers for their fleets.
