Why doesn't a third party release these controller?

We should breed the two controllers together to spawn a controller with the 360's ergonomics and triggers, with the PS3's d-pad and buttons.

I much prefer the PS controller, though the DS3 is much better than the standard one as it has more weight. As above I also don't like the ergonomic-ness of the 360 pad. Yes, it is more comfy to hold firmly, yes it puts less strain on your hands after heavy use. But it just doesn't feel right somehow. Perhaps having used the same controller since the PS1 has done something to my mind!

:confused: that's just odd. Those are 2 of the reasons it is a better pad.

It's clunky and unprecise. Playing SF2 with the 360's d-pad is an experience i'd like to forget.

Now it all makes sense, I DONT SUCK AT SFII the pad does :D

Seriously, I was sure I was awesome on snes, and I just can't play for the life of me on 360, And also, The Dpad makes my thumb hurt quite quickly too.

Thrustmaster (lol) Run N Drive Wireless. Unfortunately, Sony/PS3 doesn't allow it to support rumble or motion sensing.

I can't help but LoL when I read these threads and people moan that either controller is uncomfortable or makes their hands hurt!

I was brought up using the likes of these:-

Rubbish Ergonomics???? - Pah!

Some of you don't even know you're born, :D

Who the hell cares where the left thumbstick is. I can't for the life of me figure out what is so wrong about its position. In fact we have been using this same design for the last 10 years, and no one complained until recently when the 360 came out. For the vast majority of games, your right thumb is almost always on the right stick, and your left thumb on the left stick. How can you tell me it's awkward to have both sticks adjacent to each other?! You crazy lunatics!

And yes I've just realised I've gone a bit crazy too.

Edit: In fact, if anything, having the dpad at the bottom would be similar to if you had the four right face buttons on the bottom - Now that would be awkward!

people have always complained about the pads. the original xbox had the left stick higher as well, dont forget. and the reason people prefer that is because its a more natural position for the thumbs.

The PS3 d-pad is where most ppls left thumb naturally falls. The pad was designed when most games primarily used the d-pad, so this made sense. The vast majority of games these days use analogue tho, which is why every first party pad bar Sony's has had the left stick in the more natural place - from the N64 to GC, DC, Xbox, 360 etc - and moved the d-pad underneath.

It's easy enough to get used to the PS pad, but I find it less comfortable, especially during big gaming sessions with friends, and that my thumbs touch when pushing the right and left sticks towards each other.

Because sony are a Japanese company and develop their controllers in the typically blind Japanese fashion of neglecting everyone outside of Japan with normal sized hands. The PS3 pad is horrible for any men with normal/large hands.

This, if you like the ps3 pad you are either a women, midget or not a real man.

Um, I'm 32 and grew up using those. And the PS3 controller still sucks.

I think all the people who are complaining about the PS3 pad are just tards and need lessons in how to use it properly - a good worker never blames his tools etc. :p
