I'm really enjoying the trophy challenges but I'm not sure about this one - too easy to get it based on luck rather than skill (though I'm so glad I don't have to go through re-try after re-try ... :p). On the other hand, now that I know you can get 15 tokens in a row by boosting through the big green asteroids it does open up possibilities for getting big score bonuses on the arcade game when trying to get high scores ... :)

What the... :confused: You only just discovered this? Boosting through was the first thing I did when I saw that lumpa' green.
 
I always used to break them up (quite a satisfying part of gameplay) - guess I kinda assumed that the tokens were generated by blasting the green rocks and other rocks rather than them just naturally containing tokens *whistles distractedly*
 
I'm pretty sure split screen is available in an expansion, not currently out for the UK (dunno if it was pulled early on though) - I think it has a ship editor too which could explain the different ships on the score boards :)
 
Finally got to the boss on the last planet but it looks a right bitch to kill.

Can I ignore it and shoot all the rocks and the flying saucers first or do they respawn (the flying saucers I mean)?
 
Start by destroying each red glow (you can knock a few of them by boosting through). Once they're all down, just fire away at it, whilst making sure to also blast any rocks/ships that come near you. I use the green weapon throughout btw. I think it's easiest boss after you figure out how to deal with it.

Saucers re-spawn. The Boss in the middle basically has like 6 legs/turrets. Once you blow them up it bombards the planet with missiles. Whilst it does this you have to just keep shooting saucers and rocks. Then boss explodes then respawns, kill its turrets, hide, respawn, kill turrets end of level.

i wouldnt even consider it a boss tbh, the only thing thats "attacking" you is a handful of asteroids and a saucer every like 30 seconds
 
I got 95 mil, which is a big deal for me as my original high score was 35mil. Problem is, i don't have the internet in my flat yet, so the high score was lost :(
 
Meh, double post i know but its completely unrelated to my previous one and i need a reply cos it's killing me:

I want to get the 15 tokens in one boost trophy (trophy whore, i know), but i can only ever get 12. I know i need to get the big bonus asteroid, but do i need to boost into the untouched asteroid before i shoot it, or so i need to shoot it to release the tokens and THEN boost into it?

I've given up on the co-op and bomber trophies, well beyond my skills.
 
Finally completed the game on easy. 49Million score. Somewhere around 13k on the easy leaderboard. Was a bit disappointed that it didn't let me start the game again on normal, but ended the game.

Guess I'll have to see how far I can get on normal mode now. Never managed more than 16million before, but at least I now know what the bosses are like and how to defeat them. Can't ever see me getting the scores that you guys are getting though (160million etc), I just find it too difficult with far too much going on.

I managed it using the bonus asteroid on the 3rd planet if that helps?
You need to boost into it untouched though, if you get it just right then you should get enough for the trophy.

You have to do it in survival mode which i believe you need to purchase the solo expansion pack to gain access to.

Awesome, cheers, i'll just try to improve my high score and go for the trophy as a side-note.
