All of 3 or 4 posts and then the +1 **** starts. Some seem to be intent on spamming almost every thread this way.

Some one has asked a decent question to get replies from people who dont have a decent answer but cannot hit back without adding something, anything.

but the question was answered and the best solution given, heck even a product.

he asked if there where bump proof locks a link was provided, thread was over, could have been handled with a 2 minute google by the op not even a thread.

Should it have just been closeD?

I shouldn't need to provide examples but the one danny posted above is one that I looked at, whilst not a serious topical discussion and just someone requiring help and yes the answers were given people felt the need to post crap in it. I mean why?

I'm sorry for my post sir. Evidently it was wholly innapropriate of me to post something that wasn't 100% serious. I mean 2/3 of my solutions weren't really likely to happen... disgraceful.

In future, I will just post "get a dog" instead. Or is that to short, and therefore spam?

Take your head out of your rear end and have a look around, people aren't always entirely serious, life's too short.

He could get a shot gun or a rifle fairly easily and legally (assuming no mental health issues or criminal record)

He'd get in too much trouble for using it, assiming he was home. It also wouldn't deter people from breaking in in the first place.

It was a ridiculous suggestion.

Yes in GD most of my posts are light-hearted and not serious, but if you actually look at the serious ones then you'll find that I do help people. Not just in GD-type topics (CV thread yesterday, i sent example covering letters to two people, to name an example) but also in hardware forums, which is actually the main reason why the forums are here in the first place.

Also, to actually patronise me and suggest that I'm not capable of posting something of worth, you are massively misjudging my intelligence.

At the end of the day it depends why you come to GD, most people come to pass some time and to enjoy themselves. Why are you here? To complain? To tell everyone to be more serious? If you don't want to be light-hearted. There's a url bar at the top of your browser, you have the whole internet at your disposal, there are many other sites for you to bugger off to.

I'm all for humour but that's the level of humour I expect from one of my nieces or nephews. Its on a par with fart jokes.
