All New Summer 2008 Transfer Merry Go Round/Rumour Mill

Espanyol have released a statement confiming that we're in talks with them over Riera and that these talks are going well. They're saying that there's still a few minor details to be agreed and a deal is likely but these details have to be agreed in the next few days (presumably so they can find a replacement).

When you look at the big teams of Europe they are hardly falling far behind. Barca have brought in Daniel Alves and Hleb, Real have brought in Van der Vaart and were willing to spend a fortune to get Ronaldo, AC have brought in Ronaldinho and Shev (both of whom would probably have featured in a world 11 a few years back) and Inter signed Mancini, Muntari and Mourinho (and tried to pay big money for Lampard).

As is becoming a fairly regular feature, the spending of Chelsea will make everyone else look like small fry. Bear in mind though that this attitude has been happening for the past 5 or so years (I believe over 500 million total spent) and is yet to buy them a Champions League :eek:

Do you judge every player on how they perform against Liverpool? It certainly seems like you do.

He was crap yes, most would admit that but calling him average is pretty ridiculous.
 
No it's not ridiculous. He's a good finisher but his all round game is very average. If Boro aren't on top he goes completely missing in games.

No you'll be judging it on performances against Liverpool. You've already said you hate Boro so no one is ever going to take your opinion about anything associated with the club seriously :)
 
No i've judged it on whenever i've seen him play. And 6 in 16 games is not that great either regardless of the fact he offers very little else other than his finishing.

Maybe the problem is that a good player for Boro (or Leeds) is totally different to that of Liverpool. But i do hate Boro as you say.

You've clearly not watched him play much have you then, hes got bags of pace, strength, great control, can take players on, can run the channels, has a cracking freekick on him and hes only going to get better.

Next you'll be telling us Carragher is the best defender in the league and Voronin will be top scorer

Like i wasn't paying attention when Tuncay ran off laughing after he handled the ball?............ Wait a minute, that was a load of bs. :p

Carra's no Wheater, is he? Any idea if Wheater got the assist for Gerrard's winner? It was a great set by him. Come to think of it Wheater played a big role in Torres' (what turned out to be) winner at Anfield last year too :p

Voronin's just a fat Tuncay.
