Am I too old for games

what on earth would lead you to question your enjoyment of gaming related to age?

I'm 36 and still wear hoodies!

So true! I'm 61 and play all the MOHAA series and all the COD series as well as BF2,ARMA etc. I remember all the infantry stuff from my army days but am I slow compared to all the kids online!
I can work my way round a map stealthily and get good kills but when I meet an enemy face on my fingers/brain go to sleep and I'm a dead soldier!

Love combat flight sims since I played Air Warrior online and would go to bed at 2.00 a.m. with little red dots in front of my eyes.

62? Another inspiration :) top man!

54 next month and been playing now for about 10 years. can't see meself giving up just 'cos I'm an old fart, get too much enjoyment (and frustration):p

i play cod4 online most nights for a couple of hours.im 50,but i dont tell any of my freinds as they would think it strange,at my age.

I'm 38, always been a gamer so why should I stop.

Remember us oldies are the generation that grew up with the ZX80, the Atari 2600, the ZX Spectrum, the BBC B, the Commodore 64, the Amiga, the Atari ST etc. etc.

Got to say I'm not as fast as I used to be and getting whipped in a FPS by a 10 year old online always fills me with angst ;)

24 and I grew up using these as well.
I guess it was the prime time for this technology coming into fruition, any later and you missed it all.

I'm sure i'll be playing games (if they are around) for many, , many years to come.

I have to say I'm pleased to hear that you guys still play games! :)

I now prefer RTS, racing simulation, flight simulation so your tastes change.

I would much rather play a game than watch the TV, one is an interactive experience with skill, the other is a passive pastime.

Well the Atari 520ST was launched in 1985 so you were 1 :)

When I'm old and retired I can quite easily see myself wasting away my final years on whatever MMO is big at the time. The thought of lawn bowls and knitting doesn't really do it for me. I grew up playing games like half life and tfc, and I plan to still be teaching lessons to sproggs even in the year 2060.

MY nabour is a lady of 76 and she loves her Playstation 2-she borrows my sons games!
She is just playing beyond good and evil at the moment which I bought her as a present (found it in a bargain bin and rememebered what a good game it was!)

I just need to build her a rig with Quad SLI and get her into some FPS fun!

42 next month first computer was Spectrum 48k (3d Ant Attack amd Trans-Am were my first 2 bought computer games) before that had Pong, Atari 2600 then a Intellivsion. I will never give gaming up. First wife thought they were a waste of time tho and always on my back over time spent playing games instead of watching TV  .....

I remember buying Wolfenstein 3d, Doom etc and loving the immersion and the amazing first person graphics, unfortunately not as fast on the old FPS anymore tho... Been playing EQ since 2000 (and never bought another single game apart from expansions till 2006) finally this last year been trying out EQ2 love mmo's, new wife has been playing EQ1 since beta and plays more than I do. We are waiting on WAR for our new mmo fix for the next decade :)

Gaming saves me a fortune I hear the guys from work going on about going out down the pub every night with their mates spending money hand over fist. I just pay my sub's ......... and enjoy the company of friends online and my wife next to me as we kill stuff.

Nearly 35 and still loving games, granted i`ve had to cut down a little and spend nights with the mrs in front of the Tv,i`ll still be gaming at 50!!
