This game is unbelieveable online.

Just had a game where both of us had GREEN connection status icons yet the warping, ice skating was as present as its ever been.

The online service is once again a shambles so far.

Why do they even have servers, I thought servers were intended to act as a "medium" to improve the overall experience.

Konami seem to simply use them as a "Matchmaking" service, nothing else.

I get little/no lag in Mario kart on my DS... A PES game with a little lag would be playable, this is just pants.

They should release a the server client so the community can host their own or something.

I have not bought a PES game since PES 5 and I swear the online play was better in that than PES 2009.

An absolute shambles.

I just hope its fixable but I doubt it.

Anyone fancy a match so I can see if this was a one off?

Time of Release: 23/10/2008

Implementing this update will fix the following problems:

* Problems that affected the game in various game modes when played in a resolution higher than 1280*720.
Once implemented, the game can be played in higher resolutions than the one previosly without the same
problems.

IMPORTANT NOTICE: Please be informed that by implementing the patch, the save file you created in
advance for ""Become a Legend"", ""Champions League"", ""League / Cup"" and ""Master League"" modes may
become unusable.

Finally, we would like to apologize for any inconveniences and confusion caused.

Patched up, my saved game was corrupt, annoying, as i had broken into the first team and had to start again.

at least it's a patch out, why they could not sort the other issues out i dunno, seems like the chant issue and the other bugs will have to wait until Nov

wow that patch worked a treat :mad:

Now it crashes everywhere for me, got into a game once and all my players had a blue circle round them and i cant control them.

what a absolute shambles and a disgrace to pc gaming "again" :mad:

jeez, had hoped things has been resolved, and was looking forward to a match after work...

Yeh exactly what i was looking forward too.

Let us know how you get on with yer 8800 ultra,

notcing im running into a good few more problems since i went ati.
(maybe just half arsed pc ports tho?)

Just downloaded and applied the patch.

The patcher 'hangs' for a while at the start, but runs fine afterwards.

Only had a season 2 BaL to test with, but mine loaded up fine after patching.

Edit: everything works flawlessly so far

Well just got this Yesterday and was playing it last night, i must say it feels a lot different then im use to with PES games, especially the shooting seems to have changed a lot, shots i was getting on target and scoring with in PES2008 are now totally going off target, meters wide of the posts in PES2009 and im shooting the same way, power, Direction etc.

bought it today for online, lag isn't that bad but dodgy things still happening, warping and such.

What I am disappointed in is nobody seems to be playing 2v2 it's all 1v1 ranked and everyone using barca or brazil.
And the english server is full of non english causing laggy games.

After trying the 360 demo and PC full version I did not like the game. It is too fake, fast and to be honest, I can't really find a better word than weird.

Until now I have always preferred PES to Fifa but on this occasion, Fifa 09 ***!

don't think i could go over to fifa, but pes is in a mess, i loved the ease of 04 and 05 so easy to do the tricks and just 'play' anyone could pick it up and have a game....... its all gone wrong

I seem to be in the minority here, but I think it's great. I downloaded the demo and played that but was pretty unimpressed to be honest, but for some reason (i dont know if this is the same for everyone) the full game played much, much smoother. The animations in the demo appeared to be a bit jerky/laggy for me but they seem to have fixed this in the full game. I think the new ball physics are great and I find skills more intuitive to pull of using the d-pad now.

Once the new patch from Konami is out, along with a decent custom option file/super patch from the community the game will be perfect for me apart from online, which as people say is pretty dire.

It's still the best footy game there is. Fifa 09 is actually pretty good, but imo not a patch on PES gameplay wise.

The online defending is shockingly bad, but offline, there's not much wrong with it really.

Oh, for anyone that's willing to endure online play (i've given up on it), you can save goals! Just go to highlights, and when you are watching the goal, press X. Seems that not many people know about this.
