*** Red Alert 3 ***

Shes just a terrible actress, like everyone whos ever been on hollyoaks.

yea she spoils the game for me i just cant do the allie missions with her on the fmv
the russian woman on the other hand is hot and her facial expresions seem to suit the game more :D

not read all of the previous posts, but i completed this in less than a weekend, and thought every second was fantastic...

its much like RA2, with the mad units, crappy acting etc.. just how RA should be!,
added bonus is all the women in it! although Gemma's voice annoys me, shes hot till she opens her gob! haha!

gameplay is great imo, and quite well balanced so far from what ive noticed.

only one bug ive picked up on.. (is it even a bug im not sure if im just being an idiot)
i when researching clearences for the Allies, it does not backdate for previous units etc...

so for example if you get your clearences before you get the actual building to prouce units, i.e war factory, you wont be able to build guardian tanks, as it asks for the clearence research... but who knows, i may have missed something!

graphics are lovely, effects o nthe water are awesome. like when units/misiles fly over water, looks great...
unit vioce overs are brilliant too

i got everything i expected from it from playing single player.

one thing im not sure about, is having a co-commander in battle, it was different, and i can imagine it being much much better when you have a friend playing alongside you. but with a computer controling it, it seemed a bit dull.

will be trying with a friend this weekend so i hope its a bit better :)

i intend to try out the muliplayer a bit more this weekend. but C&C multiplayer has never interested me as much as faster paced RTS's like Starcraft, eitherway i'll try it!

must buy for any Red Alert 1+2 fans imo, got a nice storyline too!

whats everybody else's opinion?

I too am enjoying this game, I am a very big RA2 fan.

I think you need to re-research clearences when building outposts. If you build a new war fact in the vicinity of your MCV then it will have updated clearences.

I loved the previous red alert games however I have no idea what the hell is going on with the graphics. its like playing Freedom force vs the 3rd reich:confused:

Then you've got the fact that every single mission has a co-commander, something I find highly annoying.

Just very disappointing! :(

If you actually have friends on the internet it is a great game - really wanted 2 player games with a campaign. Dont seem to be enough big missions but enoying it so far.

OcUK decide for me.
Should i get this?
Red alert 1 - absolutely amazing. 10/10
Red alert 2 + yuri - loved them a shedload. 9/10
tiberian sun - didnt like the look - 6/10
generals - terrible - 3/10
c&c 3 - didnt play due to generals.

So given the fact i loved ra 1+2 is this enough like them to warrant me purchasing it??

You missed out by skipping C&C3, not at all the same and more true to the original series - also the best graphically.

Imo RA3 is the worst in the series and contrary to you Generals:ZH is the only version i still play after having completed the campaign.

Zero Hour would have become a classic if EA hadn't aborted it after 4 patches.
Generals was terrible due to the (lack of) unit balance.

RA3 is probably the worst of the CnC franchise;
The gameplay is ponderous - I spent most of my time sitting there knowing what to do but because none of my units were capable of doing it, it took bloody ages.
None of the units feel 'cool' to use. - Does anyone like the design of the new mammoth tanks?? What were they smoking!?
Stravros and his robotic dog still haven't made a return. Neither has Borris - Natasha is a poor replacement.
Why would they have lasers when Einstein's theories lead to their invention? (Although it was 6 years previous to when they knocked him off)
Molotov cocktails didn't exist until 1939.

Multiplayer is a little better, and anything which has Co-op missions deserves a mention.

Overall, EA haven't tried to stay remotely faithful. They took the whole 'alternate' timeline thing and went way too far with it. The graphics don't relate to either of the previous Red Alert games at all, someone pointed out 'Freedom Force vs. The Reich'.
They produced something dumbed down for people who don't like RTS games, and definitely won't when they play this!

Ive got this game but havent played it yet due to being engrosed in FA3 and Dead Space. Whats the general impression though ?

EDIT.

Oh and only now im noticing that the cover is interchangeable. Lol.

Dude you made me spit my drink of lovely cider all over my monitor your talking about a game where they changed history with a time machine and your question it against our time line. Dont you think for a second in the false game world of RA3 it could be alittle different. Maybe its just me but i dont think japan's current army have robots even. Just a thought though but still your a legend..... :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:p:rolleyes:.

Its a unrealistic game why do people keep comparing it against the real world come on lol think for a moment people its not the real world get over it....

Is it me or are the computers a lot harder than Generals and previous cnc games. i do own cnc3 but didnt play it much but even normal comps are a bit of a pain.

I really like this game-very tongue in cheek and very typical of Red Alert games!

Finished all three campaigns and enjoyed it all.
