why do people keep saying the crappy acting is good as its in line with the other games.
Theres a huge difference. Great story that sucks you in, with great FMV's, with good scripts but crappy acting is great. RA3 has, just the crappy acting, the FMV's are ridiculously bad, the story is woeful, the complete and utter lack of building up to the final battle is missing, the story jumping from one bit to another with no linking, the incredibly shortness. Gemma might be semi hot, but her baps were covered, seeing her knee's doesn't really do anything for me and well, theres hammy, camp bad acting, then theres cringe worthy hit the mute button acting, and she certainly isn't doing the former.
The smiling thing someone mentioned I believe is her trying to flirt, or trying to portray flighting through acting, but it comes across as a weird facial tic that causes a half smile for a split second, and apparently causes her accent to change every 3rd word slightly and every third FMV almost completely.
Its utterly not comparable, as a game to the first two RA's, or the earlier games in the series, its got 1/2 ok units but most suck, die way to easily, have sucky range and just aren't really fun.
I seem to remember other games where you're almost beaten, fight some hard faught battles to turn the war and gradually gain ground back, this ones a joke, we're almost dead, one simply mission later you're hitting one of their main bases, one mission later, your enemy has completely changed, another mission and you're allied with people who were on the brink of wiping you from the face of the planet, etc, etc. Such a painfully bad story and in games that always relied on FMV's to provide the tension, give you a feeling of scale of importance of what you're doing and try to remotely make you care whats happening its a huge hole they left.
Graphically I wouldn't have cared how it looks if it played great and/or had a great story, but the poor story with utterly generic bland maps, which are all tiny and short just stops pretty much anything about the game being good.
Seriously, am I the only one who remembers when the game was difficult, and got into the levels that took hours to finish, and when a campaign for just one side could easily take you 3-4 days at least.
