Bah.. this is narking me off. I shouldn't have to pay for a game and **** around trying to make it load the chuffing saves.
I checked the games cache via steam and it did its magic. Loaded up GTA and the GFX settings needed changing again, I tried to load up the save file and it once again said "Load Failed. Please check your hard drive and try again" game loads up from the very start at the boat with Roman.
I pressed escape to see if the save file was there, and it was. So I attemped to load from it and the error comes up again.

Any sign of the "latest" patch, or are we looking at after Christmas now?
Sorry if this has been answered, not read the thread for about half a week.
Is the game broken or am I doing something incredibly wrong? On the last mission (if you choose the path of "revenge" rather than "deal", without giving too much away), is it actually possible to get onto the chopper? I repeatedly tap "jump" as much as I can without permanently damaging either myself or the keyboard, and it does bugger all. I eventually fall and fail the mission, is that right, or is the game broken?
This is like my 8th attempt now, every time I've failed at that point.
So they've officially announced another patch and it isn't just people assuming there must be one due to the outstanding issues?
Because some of their previous PC games never got more than one patch. San Andreas had various glitches at times like falling through the map. And the car wash never worked on the PC version (despite the one patch supposedly fixing that). Missing or badly out of sync audio in some of the cutscenes is another unfixed error which I remember encountering.
Are you talking about the bit when you're on the motorbike? You just need to hit the ramp at high speed and it should take you into a short cut scene where you grab onto the chopper.
There have been 2 SA patches afaik:
1.00
1.01
2.00
I hope they add AA to GTA IV.
Yep, after that point, when you are dangling from the "rails" on the underside of the chopper. It says to me "press SPACE repeatedly to climb into the chopper" (or words to that effect), and it NEVER works, hell even if I had a script to press space a million times in a second it still wouldn't climb up I bet![]()
Dunno if this has been posted yet. But Gametrailers have done a 360 vs PC comparison. The PC specs are pretty top-end, so its a good test:

The PC version certainly is much sharper and has more detail, no doubt about that. But you can notice the frame rate issues in parts. Its just disappointing that you need a very expensive PC to run it full and at a decent FPS.
Was stuttering and pausing all over the shop on the PC, 360 version runs much better.
