Could possibly look brilliant, like a two tone affect. And silver drive bays to finish it off? ;)

EDIT: oh and damn you banks, damn you all to hell !

I want one of these little beauties, stat :p

got some stuff to go into my a05b today, nothing substantial, but it's a start!

it's the gigabyte odin 550w (GT...as for some reason the GT is cheaper than the standard version at OcUK).
i've mounted it fan down, not only because this gives it plenty of breathing space for the 14cm fan (as opposed to trying to breathe through a hard drive bracket ) but also because of the vented side of the odin (had it been the other way it'd have a mass of cable restricting it.

i have two concerns about the PSU, the wall socket connector it comes with is a 2 pin with a hole for the wall socket mounted ground cable (which i believe is European?), now i have plenty of kettle cables, but is it safe to use the PSU with an English cable? i can't test it myself as i have nothing with which to test it :(

AND it's motherboard connector is ONLY 24 pin (not 20+4 like most NORMAL PSU suppliers (stupid gigabyte!)

keep an eye out for a nice C2Q setup with either 4 (but probably) 8 gigs of RAM and a 260 GTX (or equivalent price GPU) during the next couple of months (might be quicker if i can get a job any time soon :() (probably getting the mobo and RAM this month, after that it's all up in the air!)

oh, and my cat opening a christmas present (for the lulz):

thanks for looking

Looking good vincent, and nice cat. :)

I wouldn't worry about the 24 pin plug, if you've got a 20pin ATX socket, just hang the extra 4 pins over the edge. What's the problem? Also, you should be perfectly fine using an English kettle lead with the PSU. The only difference is that English wall plugs have the earth connection as a 3rd pin, whereas the European ones have a hole where the wall sockets have a pin.

Got a BS-03 cooler for my A05 today, and I've just ordered a Lian Li CD-bay blanking plate. Hopefully my 4870 will come back from RMA tomorrow and I can finally have a working system.

ta, we love him :) (despite the fact he likes to nibble toes at 2am and hasn't worked out how cat litter works (ie scrapping the floor outside the litter tray isn't going to cover it up )

cool, knew about the earth pin being in the wall just didn't want to fry it is all, excellent, and i just hope the mobo has enough room (if not i'll just get an extender with the break off piece).

hehe!, pain in the arse waiting :p, and yeah, i'll be adding 2 5.25" bay covers (want to get a bluray drive in there as well as the DVD writer i've already got), vented PCI plates and the BS-03 (and i'll be replacing all 120mm fans with sharkoons), i love the case though, incredibly well thought out for its size!

Last Question i promise, is the hard drive rack/cage removable because i read in one place that it is held in with rivets and then in another you can easily take it out and it seems to be advertised as a removable hard drive rack/cage.

Cheers

lian li themselves actually advertised it as 'easily removable', but in fact it is riveted in place (i guess you have to decide yourself how 'removable it is :p).

i was going to remove mine but decided it doesn't ACTUALLY restrict airflow that much (as i'm just not going to put a HDD there) but more directs it straight to the motherboard :D

I think the very early ones were removable. There were a few pics early in the [H] thread that showed this feature.

Well I mean if it is infact a exhaust fan then there isnt much point not having a hdd in there unless, tell me this: does the hard drive anti noise stuff (rubber etc) on the hard drive rack/cage work well or is it worth getting a proper hard drive silencer?

Ah okay, no problem.

Damn im trying to order it but my card is being declined :mad::mad:

EDIT: slowly losing interest now...probably going to wait until i build a new system and for now do some modding to my antec 300.

Well now decided that in the future when i upgrade (a much needed upgrade-basically a new system) so cpu, mobo, ram, possibly gfx card, and at last the case (a05). So ive just ordered a Antec Mini P180 and some Ram.

EDIT: had to make a secure code for order to go through, which was a little wierd.

hey vincent what kind of cat is that, looks so much like one of mine which is a bengal/ red persian cross breed.

no idea, we got him from my mums friends sisters ex who hated him and used to bully him (but didn't want his ex to have him out of spite). he loves it here now though (took him a good 2-3 months to settle :(). if i had to guess it'd be a cross between cute and mischievous :D
