I love my A05-B. Best case I've ever had. It runs 24/7, nice a cool, with a BIXII in the roof, and an e2200 running at 3.7Ghz.

well, just typed out a big long reply, but then it went fubar on me :(

managed to pick up a p5b deluxe at an excellent price which arrived today, thought i'd get it in the case and get some idea of the size (and get the standoffs in the right place):

i found it a very tight fit but then my previous cases were full towers (Tt armour LCS and gigabyte aurora (which had an mATX inside :D). got bless things like Q-connectors is all i can say!

oh, also got my internal hard drive on tuesday, i've got it reversed in the external drive bay with just enough room for the SATA cable and power cable to fit behind the bezel.

I'll be getting the CPU cooler and 4(/8)GB of RAM by the end of the month, which just leaves the expensive bits, a Q6600 and a nice GPU, fingers crossed for a job any time soon so that I can afford them before next year :(

looks good so far mate, is that a sli mobo?

Sadly im in the job searching rat race too :(

but heres that antec mini p180 i said i would get before
http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=17964508

in some ways it is similar to the a05.

nah, just crossfire :( (1 x16 and 1 x4 afaik).
yeah, well bummed out, just applied to a job as a radiotherapy admin assistant at the local (as well as checking a large portion of the local supermarkets none of whom seem to be employing until march), would be nice if i got it, but i doubt it some how :(, feels really weird to be out of work, i've had a job since i was 16, and fair enough that's only 3.5 years, but when you haven't known any different it can feel kind of awkward, especially as i have very few qualifications (due to starting work so early and not continuing my education to uni) and i have very little experience either (most of those 3.5 years was spent in the same job). and because i live at home and am under 25 i get less than £200 a month (less than £100 after i've paid my parents (which is a far cry to the £1k i was getting when i was working)), just have to keep trying i guess!

the p18x are the only antec cases i like, very nice :)

Thought I'd post an update, since the last photo I have upgraded my pc from E8400 @ 4Ghz + 4870 512mb to a Q9550 @ 4Ghz + GTX280. I also got a mATX Lanparty motherboard so that now I can fit my fans and thermochill rad inside the case. Temps are really good, GFX card doesn't go over 45 under load and CPU has never been above 55 underload (the hottest core that is, 2 of the cores haven't been above 50!)

I put some anti kink coils on the tubing since there's a little less room in there now everything is mounted internally. Will eventually cut a window in the side of the case so it is closed but that'll have to wait for another day.

Can you please show pictures how that rad fit inside the caseand how much does it cover? how many slot are still useable?

I've taken a couple of photos but it's a bit tricky to get a good angle!

The top orange slot at just below the Rad is the FDD connector and so is at the very top of the motherboard. This is the reason I went for the mATX motherboard rather than the standard ATX (although my previous build in this case had a ATX board in and it was fine, I just couldn't use the top PCI slot.)

The motherboard is a crossfire too so I guess if you found a decent board without cross fire you could have 2 or 3 free PCI slots. Another thing to consider is the thermochill is a double thickness raditor so if you used a single thinkness rad you'd have another inch and a half of space.

Here you can see just how close the rad goes up to my 2 HDDs in 5.25" housings. I haven't got a cd/dvd drive in this since I get all my games from steam or direct2disk (I don't think it would have fit anyway). The rad is pushed as far back in the case as it will go, it's actually touching the PCI covers so there it just fit.

Here is the top of the case, the flash picked up all my grubby finger prints!

Good work Slinkie. How's the noise level?

Noise level is really good, especially since I have the side off the case. I can hear my HDDs ticking over over the noise from the fans (3 x Sharkoon 1000 rpm and 1 x akaska ultra quiet 1400 rpm) As soon as I get a window in the side of my case it will pretty much be silent!

looking good slinkie, love the diy monitor stand :D

I'm too cheap to buy something to put the monitor on, I would like a monitor arm to give me a bit more deskspace but my PSU box will do for now :)

What are the HDD mounts you're using?

I was using a Scythe Quiet Drive with my Samsung HDD in the CD bays for about 6 months. It quietened the spin noise, but transmitted a stupid amount of vibration to the case - it was always resonating. I've ended up ditching the Scythe box and putting the HDD back in the main HDD rack. It's much quieter now...:p

They are these. I needed to use them as I drilled out the HDD mount so I could change the front fan and increase airlow. I don't mind the ticking and as soon as I get the side of the case on I shouldn't be able to hear it at all

That great! So that means that mATX mobo is fully uncovered when using Thermochill rad with fans inside the case!
So for regular ATX it will cover two PCI slots, right? This is great stuff man! I was waiting for this kind of confirmation for a long time.. This case is amazing!!! :))

looks like this might actually get finished before christmas 2010 :D, i've got a nice little 20 hour a week (2 nights a week) night shift job lined up :p so, plenty of bills to pay this coming month but plenty of spare dosh the next!

im not sure if this info is much use to people and someone may have discovered this, i know it has been said you need to remove the hard drive cage by removing the rivets in order to replace the front fan, well it can be done without removing the cage or rivets.
