A few words about the OcUK Team

Spie has hit the nail on the head with everything he said. OcUK is unique in the sense that the majority of staff aren't just your typical turn up at 8:30am and leave at 5:30pm on the dot. We all actually like doing the job that we do and are prepared to put the time and effort in to make sure it is done to the best of our abilities. There's no denying that sometimes it's hard but we don't complain or take time off ill - we just get on with it. Most of the staff in the company are all enthusiasts like many members of this forum (Yewen, Ace Modder and myself all started on here before working for OcUK) which means we all share similar interests, get on well together, have a bit of a laugh at times but more importantly get the job done. Team spirit is fantastic and I'm sure it will continue to get even better as we get further into the year.

We do know that OcUK has not necessarily been the best for service in the past but things are changing for the better. The Customer Support forums for example have had a massive uptake within the short amount of time that it has been running and so far we have managed to resolve EVERY single problem to satisfy any customers that have had a problem. If anyone can find a company who has never made a single mistake then I will personally get a wedge of money and eat it. The fact is that mistakes will happen but it's how they're resolved that makes the difference and in 2009 you will see OcUK service getting better and better.

Lots of new things will be happening throughout the year and OcUK will continue to bring you all the latest and greatest hardware to wax your credit cards on. Happy Spending:D
 
You can have kudos points for customer service from me. Got the wrong power adapter for my new GTX 280, made a post in the customer support forum and Smirnoff replied saying they'd mail me one out :eek: Not only did it arrive the next day, the address was handwritten!

Find me another company who'll do that for free :D Never had a problem with the service here so you'll keep getting my custom as well as everyone else I meet.
 
I've done some great business with OcUK over the last 8 years. Had one fault that got sorted within three days, which entailed me sending the faulty bit back to OcUK, your guys fixing it, and then getting it back to me. Top marks there.
 
Good to see OcUK staying positive through all the rubbish of the last week. :)

Fantastic company as far as I'm concerned, and I look forward to spending my hard earned with you for many years to come. :)
 
I'd like to post a few words about the present OcUK team. Too often the people behind the scenes are taken for granted but not at OcUK.

In all our 10 years in business I have never had the good fortune to employ such a high quality workforce. Morale is at an all-time high despite the recent attempts of others to tarnish our name. The Purchasing Team in particular has an amazing atmosphere of team spirit and co-operation. I'd like to particularly thank Adam (Slackworth) for his leadership recently :)

Everyone is doing there best for the team. Negativity is at an all-time low and everyone is incredibly positive. We have lots of new plans for the coming year. Watch this space!

I'm very grateful for everyone's input in recent weeks. I'm so proud of you all and feel honoured to be your employer.

Hi There,

I am in my ninth year of employment at OcUK and have recently been made a Director of the business. We have never had such a talented bunch of individuals that work so well as team and the postive energy in the business is amazing.

Adam & Tom have really showed maturity and skills beyond there years well done.

2009 is our 10th year and it's going to be our best. Team OcUK are the best in the business.
 
Not only that, but it sounds like a thinly veiled side swipe against an ex employee to me, what with the timing. Just my opinion based on previous form though. :)

I read it the same way especially with the specific refference to purchasing, but what the heck always good to share the love.

The timing with these sorts of comments is too coincidental tot he DDOS attacks, as is this thread generally.
 
For all those having a go at the management team for the timing, content and possible intentions of the posts, have a think about this.

It takes a lot for a company to admit their short comings. This has very possibly been due to the recent "discovery" of lots of highly critical posts which appear to most often refer to events quite some time ago.

Regardless of reason or fault having a dispute between a staff member and management will always cause anxiety and discomfort for those not involved as well as to those involved. The only people that know the truth of what happened are those directly involved and people always remember things differently. Ultimately when things get to that stage they will never go back to how they used to be so its always best to part company.

For an employee to make it to director within 9 years in such a small company is very impressive both for the individual but also for the opportunities.

I purchased a bundle from ocuk, looks like a potentially faulty part, spoke to tech support within about 60 seconds of calling, discussed the issues and I am booked in for a return and replacement. Cannot fault the post sales service so far. Judge things on how You experience them, not how others tell you they experienced them.
