Got this game free with my GTX280.

Graphics are lovely, but the game play is so boring!

Sometimes i feel like Dennis nedry from Jurassic park when it rains.

I don't like the idea that they just drop you off in the game after the tutorial and don't tell you what the hell everything means on the map.

All the "quests/mission" are the same just different locations.

The Weapon guy quests are always the other side of the map from you!

The main story line is just completely uninteresting and the weapon mechanics with locking/jamming is good, but since when does a weapon degrade after using it 3 times?

The immersion content they added is really good fun, i really enjoy that.

Sadly i think this game aimed the wrong direction with a great concept.

I have this on the Xbox 360 and I feel the same. I loved it for the first 5-10 hours of play but now I really cannot be bothered to play it again.

I HATED the fact that every mission seems to purposely put the objective on the other side of the map. I found the gameplay fine and I loved sneaking into camps with silencers on when it was dark, but I couldn't help but feel like the enemy ALWAYS knew where I was whilst I had no idea where they were.

Many MANY people feel the same, don't worry :) You'll still get someone on here tell you you're wrong, but what do they know! :D

Drive - Checkpoint - Drive - Checkpoint - Drive.

and i just ordered it the other day, sounds like i shouldnt of bothered:rolleyes:

i was getting the gtx also with the free game but cant afford it yet, so bought the game instead, it was only £15 so imaybe i shouldnt complain too much when i get it. It cant be worse then NFS undercover, i got that also on pc and what a **** game!

like driving a wheel barrow whilst drunk its that bad :mad::mad:

Yep. Far too repetitive. All the missions are the same. Graphics are good but nothing special. This should not have been called Far Cry 2. It is a far cry from the original game. :D

One of the main things i couldn't damn stand was the fact that everyon driving a car wanted to kill me regardless of what car i was driving they knew i was an enemy to them.

All the guard posts instantly attack you regardless too.

So you want to get from your location to another, you have to go through 2 guard posts, they instantly attack you, you cant drive away from them as there cars are faster, you move 2-3 meters from the camp and they all instantly re spawn so if you have to head back that way, you need to clear the camps yet again.

I'm 62% of the way through now and it's become hard work trying to make myself keep playing it. As everyone else has said, it almost always sends you to the opposite corner of the map for a mission. All the missions are the same, it's either kill someone who's whereabouts are highlighted exactly to you on the map or blow something up, again pin-pointed exactly to you. They should have just owned up to the fact that it's a linear game (nothing wrong with that) and not just dumped this linear game into a huge map. The guards re-spawning is a pain. It's annoying and tedious to take out a guard post and destroy half of it while you're at it only to find you have to back track that way a short while after to find the whole place and people perferctly restored.

It's such a shame really, a few changes here and there and it could have been a really good game.

I agree, it's made even worse when you are crossing the map corner to corner all the time. Gets very tedious. Drive along, see ememy car, have a crash and shoot out, get in the least damaged car of the 2 and carry on for another 1/4 mile then repeat. Over and over.

I thought that too. They way you drive through a camp and no matter how fast you go there is a jeep up your ass straight away.
Also all the vehicles are slow.

I did finish the game and it many ways it was brilliant but there are just so many frustrating elements and it is so repetitive it completely fails at being the FPS of the year.

EDIT: When I say finish the game I did all the main missions and not all the side ones, simply couldn't be bothered! At the end of the game it returns to the titlescrene so I couldn't do them anyway!

I bought this game thinkin Wow this looks like it could be one hell of a game. And then i played the first few missions and realised how truly poo this game was gonna be. Like others have said some aspects of it are great, but altogether its a complete waste of time imo!

...and another thing. The map is just too big for the contents of the game. Where are the shops you can break into at night? Where are the huge buildings you can explore? maybe a lab or something? I know it's a jungle and it probably wouln't be very realistic but where is the civilised small town on the edge of the map? just so it's not all green and brown all the time. Now i'm one of the people who just couldn't get into stalker after a few attempts but I think they could have learnt something from that game. I'm sure you could play this game on a monitor with the blue tube blown and not even notice !

dam shouldnt of bothered with it now

ill see for myself anyway, but what ive heard im not expecting much. are there no patches available to fix these problems? It was the same with gta iv and now thats patched works gr8 for me

ACtually, the thing is mission wise there is a lot of variety in locations and style of attacks. The problem is, for any given mission 90% of the fighting you will do is not actually at the mission location, its the 58 respawning checkpoints inbetween, thats why they feel identical because 90% of it is the same, but thats not strictly speaking the mission just getting there.

Theres plenty of very well designed actual mission locations, the shanty town on water type place, the being surrounded in that hut up the hill, scrapyard, villages, farmland, trainyard, those are all mostly quite fun attacks. But as I said those attacks are 2-5minutes of gameplay, and 15minutes of checkpoints to get there and back.

If the checkpoints weren't there, because in reality why have a checkpoint every 30 seconds on a road, its supposed to be two sides at war for gods sake, yet everywhere is completely controlled, in reality, a warzone with two factions you'd have a few strongholds and not be spread so thin, which would also make the game better.

But the story itself is rather lame, they don't really have a "good" side to help, every single person in the whole game(pretty much) just wants to murder you the second they see you even though you could be working for their side. The faction system is non existant yet you're working for the factions. Also yes, guns giving up the ghost so easily is ridiculous.

Dunno, I'm liking this game so far. Found the first 20 minutes boring, but now, about an hour more in, I'm looking forward to it.

I like the illusion of realism & the stunning environment. Voice acting is terrible though.

I found it boring, my mate found it great though he likes Warcraft too which I find boring :p

Agree with all above - repetitive and boring. I've given up after getting 25% of the way through, haven't played it since early December and I don't think I will again!

What the game really needs is an Oblivion Lost STALKER-esque mod to turn the game into what it always should have been. First on the list of changes would need to be increasing the respawn time of checkpoints to a sensible period of time....not less than 5 minutes Ubisoft!

I'm really struggling to care about it too, the one thing I've found that perked my intrest ever so slightly was the dune buggy. It is properly fast so you can actually escape from the guys in jeeps.
