The best option is to have both. Failing that get the console that appeals to YOU the most. Its simple really...
I have both and the interface on the PS3 lacks the polish the 360 has, achievements and friends mesh together a lot better on the 360.
I prefer my PS3 (for some reason) but I definitely feel the lack of polish surrounding the online elements.

I found all the games available on the 360 I wanted were all on Steam. Since I have a decent enough PC to play them, I sold my 360 for that reason. Also paying for xbox live did anger me a little. With hindsight I'd buy a PS3 next time for different games, blu-ray and it seems more future proof. That's how it applies to me anyway.

Valkyria Chronicles looks excellent; my mate's got it so I'll get to play it at some point soon. It is a Strategy RPG though.
The 360 has over 10 rpg console exclusives with another 6 or so due this year.
I suppose..
DS and PSP are the big J/RPG consoles of this gen

Cant belive I started a war, sorry guys but some good points made.
Anyway I still think 2-3 years down line the PS3 will be better value even if you disregard the wifi and Blu ray drive add ons for the 360, as simply cos you don't pay for the PSN.
Out of curiosity when was the 360 blu ray scrapped?

Yes the PS3 can do more, but at the end of the day i bought my Xbox360 to be a games console.. nothing more, nothing less... and this is what it does
Blu ray is used for games too, bigger disk, more content, play from start to finish without having to change disk, most folk just think Blu ray is JUST used for films when its not.

If someone with a PS3 posting an OP of "PS3 is better than the 360 because" wasn't going to be the start of something like this then I don't know what would.
What with this post, every PS3 exclusive game whenever it's going to be out (incl. PSN titles) getting multiple threads with "PS3 EXCLUSIVE" in the title and every 360 thread getting trolled (what 360 game next got "Killzone 2" and Avatar clothing got "Sold my 360 anyway so I don't care") it's making it quite an unpleasant place if you're not a PS3 fan boy.

My goodness. This thread had to take a turn for the worse, And Nokkon! Sorry but come on, That post earlier wasn't a very good one lol. It was bound to get a lot of peoples backs up, because it was completely opinion stated as fact, Which always upsets people.
In my opinion, Not fact. The PS3 and the 360 both have some great Exclusives, But other than Mass Effect and Gears of War, Gears of War 2 on 360, I can't say the other exclusives are overly amazing. Maybe you can, Which is what I mean by stating opinion as fact.
Uncharted, Metal Gear Solid 4, Resistance 2, Little Big planet, That's 4 already I can say I think are amazing AAA PS3 titles, Already IMO that's more exclusive titles on PS3 that interest me.
Problem with this "war" is that too many people come on here and state a big assed post and try and push it as the be all and end all post, That is THE fact, And they use that post to discredit other peoples Opinions.
If I think the PS3 is the better console, No one can tell me other wise, Because it's an opinion of mine, and it comes from playing the games, and enjoying the online experience, and the media capabilities.
Same goes for the 360.
You can say, You disagree, And say why you think so. But remember, You can't bring the facts Because the fact is... It's SUBJECTIVE
