I'd actually pay good money to see the average WoW player's face when someone knocks him out and steals all his equipment.
That'll be me then

That'll be me then, Can't really say I'm looking forward to having all my gear stolen but It will be good fun playing a game that has consequences.
so hows the game any good ?
I dont really think so, I dont think DF was ever aimed at being a mass market MMO, its appeal is extremely limited to a specific MMO user type. The full loot FFA pvp was never going to appeal to the majority so I dont really see any detriment in having a subscription fee thats higher

you could say the same thing about eve-online yet its subscription remains inline with other games.
from what ive been hearing about darkfall the pvp wont be as hardcore as you think anyway aparently even in the wilderness they have started putting up the sentry tower things that kill pkers lol
This games doesnt even look good enough to pay that amount of money for, not alone pay a subscription as well. What sort of mug would pay £40 for a game and then £10 per month apart from pizza lovers with nothing better to spend their money on.
Plus people say that its only the cost of pizza but what do you think you will be doing when you are playing this MMO game? Eating pizza maybe?
Or you could skip the eating and just get off with a fantasy over some female half elf that that you met on your travels who is in fact some 40 year old virgin called Jeff who still lives at home with his mum. (No offence to any Jeffs out there!)

Hehe
To address your points individually,
I dont care particularly what an MMO looks like, UO looked god awful and wasnt even in 3d, yet was the best MMO I ever played (by a long long way). Regardless I am willing to give it the benefit of the doubt and try it myself before declaring that its good or bad, at least then I actually know from personal experience rather than hearsay or (heaven forbid) looks.
No, I wont be eating pizza while I play , because I dont eat food over my PC, I tend to sit together with my wife and kid for dinner.
I would hardly have to "skip" the eating and at least if he was 40 he would be my age![]()

are you in beta? an online friend of mine who ive played mmo's with for around 10 years is in the beta and he said in the last patch they added sentry towers to places that dont make sense because they apear in areas that arent suposed to be safe. Its probably best if a little research is done, the "sentry tower things that kill pkers lol" are placed only near racial banks and certain quest givers. They cover less than 1 percent of the map and you can see them from quite a distance. They're there so that noobs can do the first few quests without being constantly griefed. Seems to be fair enough to me, not really any different to the town guards in UO.
They say the 25th.
Could do with getting their act together on the web servers for pre-ordering though, they've been unusable for days (even trying at 4am!)
You can start torrenting the client from http://www.eu1.darkfallonline.com/dl/DarkfallFull/ at some point today.
Is this going to be the only way to download the files? If so, that instantly rules me out.. As Im at university![]()
