Demigod by Gas Powered Games (SupCom)

So these guys release a game and there network goes down!?!?! You would think that the experts would know what they are doing

It could well be that they didn't expect the volumes of new customers that Demigod has provided..

The same thing happened to Steam during the massive L4D offer, Steam servers went down, and their forums timed out.

Just give them time to sort it out :)

I know but how many times have we seen this happen? This is what is happening nowadays - digital distributions coupled with an online service that just cannot cope. How come the experts do not know how popular their own game is going to be?

I am not that bothered - will have a look tomorrow. I am just amazed that this has kept happening with so many titles over the past few years.

Help !

Easy AI's are destorying me lol. Not really sure what im ment to be doing yet.

Interesting game!

I just spent 50 minutes on a conquest match playing as 'The Unclean Beast' with a normal AI team mate and two normal AI opponents. They destroyed my citadel! :(

It seems like quite a good game. I'll have to give it a proper go tomorrow after I have read the manual and had a go with different Demigods.

the game is awesome when played in short bursts. what a shame it wasnt advertised properly so lets spread the word around! it could develop a great community.

I'm glad to see so many other people buying and playing this game.

Once they get the multiplayer side of the game fixed (in next patch), then this game should rock online. I've just had a hour game vs 1hard and 1normal AI, almost lost it at one point, so very close :D

I had trouble connecting to other players and realised it was my router. It was an o2 wireless box II and the firewall settings were locked out. I bought a new router and that fixed the problem.

Is the multiplayer definitely borked?

I've gone through this guide, but I'm still unable to play online.

Is it the game, or is it something I’m doing wrong? I've confirmed that my ISP doesn’t block any ports or P2P traffic.

The guide fails to mention that if you go to C:\Program Files\Stardock Games\Demigod\bin\ImpulseReactorOptions.exe the default ports it specifies are 6112-6132, and that you can change them at will.

Im using a Dlink DGL 4300 gaming router, it's never let me down before.

Yeah, I used that app to force Demigod to use anything in the 6100 - 6200 range. It didnt make a difference.

The required ports are open, I've confirmed this with portforward.com's utility.

Really not sure what I'm doing wrong. I guess the next step is to try putting the PC in the DMZ.

Does anybody know of any website that lists Demigod abilities and also purchasable items that are in game?

I find that when I'm playing I rush with my selections because there is no ability to pause and have a good read about what things do what. I don't want to spend time reading over things whilst everyone else is battling it out.

The final item sets and balance have only been available for a day or so, but I'm sure they'll be online soon enough - have you checked the official forum's strategy section?
