Fear of clubs' bouncer rejection

clothes have nothing to do with it

Bamboo - no asian males allowed (specifically of indian/pakistani origin)
The Garage - same as above

byblos, karbon and the social have the same attitude as above - unless they are in a a very small group and smartly dressed then you can get in.

i have walked up to bamboo completely sober and wearing a £400 suit and been refused entry, i asked for a reason and he said, your friend has earings on, i then said he can take them off and he still refused us entry.

i have only ever managed to get into bamboo and garage a total of 2 times each - and have been succesfully knocked back over 100 times

on the other hand ive never been knocked back from byblos, the social, karbon, jumpin jak's, tiger tiger or classrooms and no matter what i cant get into bamboo not even when im with white friends

Clothes actually have a lot to do with it. Just because you get knocked backed for being asian doesn't mean other people, i.e. white people, don't get knocked back for not being smartly dressed. Also if what you say happens to be true, and I don't condone racist bouncing, you must be a bit soft in the head to go back to a club that has admitted you 2/100 times.

yeah well - i see people going in with a hoodie and a backpack on, in front of me, when im smartly dressed and get a knock back because "im too casual" i then laugh at their face and to explain why the person in front was let in and to look at what they are wearing compared to myself, they have nothing to say

bouncers in glasgow are *******

well ive been clubbing for what - 6-7 years now

go out at least once a week - get bored of the same club every week - you do the maths

for example - i normally go to classrooms or tunnel now

works night out on friday was in bamboo - surprise surprise - knock back, i even told the people at work i wouldnt get in and there was no point in me trying - so i went to tunnel with some of my cousins instead

Granted a lot of bouncers in Glasgow have a bad attitude. They do tend to remember faces though so if you 'laugh in their faces' chances of them ever letting you in in the future will be getting increasingly smaller. Unfortunately you just need to grit your teeth and not give them reasons to remember you.

I can do the math thanks, my point is why keep going back to bamboo/the garage if they keep knocking you back? Do you really want to give them your business?

well if they are refusing you entry for no good reason - i even asked him why and he gave me a BS reason, so i laughed and asked why the person in front ws let in if thats the reason for me not being let in - he knew i was right and he was wrong and refused to speak

like i said - it was a works night out - i never chose the place and that was my only reason of trying

the same thing happens with student nights out - they like going to the places that refuse entry to asians

I'm going with a white shirt this time, and a white n blue superdry t-shirt under it, still cold at nite.
i'd lose the superdry t-shirt, or at least not have it on show.

No offence but over here it's a way of the nobs to recognise each other (brandishing their superdry attire on a night out).

Really? I had no idea, I was given a polo shirt made by them and I've worn it a few times without thinking anything of it. I've certainly never had anyone tip me the wink that I'm one of their crew because I'm wearing it - I feel cheated that I've been denied entry to this exclusive club.

Generally it's not that hard to get into clubs, look reasonably smart and dressed appropriately for the club, don't act like a tool in the queue and you should be fine.

'tis because the man before you is talking rubbish.

Reading some of these posts has made me glad that I'm not part of the mainstream "social" groups...my god talk about shallow and elitist! I'll still continue to go out to the metal clubs with my Jesus is a **** t-shirt on...never had a problem getting into any places like that!

In Glasgow, Karbon. Some of the girls in the pics come from my old highschool. (though I didn't associate with the 'popular' kids)

Just looked at these pics and thought I'm am really really old.

Funny you grow up and think you are still young(ish) but most of the girls in there are very fresh faced.

It's making me feel very old and depressed :( still I had my fun when I were a lad hehe.

Take it all back after further inspection there are a few oldies dotted around the photos

Then there is this....http://www.karbonuk.com/gallery.php?album=16_11_08_kanye_after_party&image=28

I used to always get knockbacks for various reasons you can't take it personally. The best one was there are too many blokes in already and they were afraid of something kicking off since the ratio blokes to girls was too high. (Have to agree with them if that was the case it was a good knockback)

Not your night tonight was the usual one. (Never understood that one but hey ho) The same bouncer would let us in another night as well.

Just have to take it like a man walk away and try somewhere else.

I have a fear of pubs and they're bouncers, primarily because I shouldn't be there by law! But I get in occasionally when I have my beard equipped.

/leaves.

Also sometimes clubs are a bit funny if you are all black or Asian.

Sometimes? :o The club scene in London is well known for being very racist (as you probably know)... we basically can't accept guestlists from all Asian groups.

Go in a group of two guys max. Ideally have a girl or two with you. The girls should also be well-dressed, and ideally not overweight.

How long do bouncers generally remember faces anyway? I cant remember faces on a night out, even when im sober :S

The Garage doesn't let in Asians??? Things must have changed somewhat since I last worked there then.

Picture if you can, an under-18's night with 600 kids roughly split 50/50 in terms of girls and boys. Where the boys are concerned, there where about 250 Asian lads thinking they where black, about 40 white lads thinking they where black and about 10 black kids having the time of their lives being centre of attention to 300 Asian girls and dancing around to totally crap rap music. Hassle, hassle and more hassle.
