Fear of clubs' bouncer rejection

How long do bouncers generally remember faces anyway? I cant remember faces on a night out, even when im sober :S
it depends, if it's someone that said ok and walked away last time they were kicked out/refused entry then not likely to remember it, but if it's a face that stood in front of you arguing for ages then it sticks

pretty disgraceful imo painting them with same brush espcially considering they actually help the country unlike the fat bouncers at the clubs i visit. Don't care if they can bench press 40kg more then me wouldnt be able to catch me if their life depended on it could easily punch one in the nose and get away from outside lol.
I can't say with great accuracy in that particular instance, but if there's a blanket ban on certain groups it's almost always because of a history of trouble. working in a city centre pub and venue we get different crowds on different days and don't turn away anyone for something as menial as that

So you can remember faces from a one off occassion like a few months ago, or a year ago say?
You might not remember exactly what was wrong but if they're barred/were big trouble the association of face = no isn't a hard one to hold onto for as long as it takes, obviously recognition is recognition and something simple could change their appearance enough to get away with it.

Really? I had no idea, I was given a polo shirt made by them and I've worn it a few times without thinking anything of it. I've certainly never had anyone tip me the wink that I'm one of their crew because I'm wearing it - I feel cheated that I've been denied entry to this exclusive club.

Generally it's not that hard to get into clubs, look reasonably smart and dressed appropriately for the club, don't act like a tool in the queue and you should be fine.

Maybe I should have mentioned, 'over here' being sunderland. There's quite a following for superdry, it even seems to have overtaken the henley craze.

Just get a nice pair jeans, dark blue are a nice colour. You don't have to spend loads of money on them, just as long as they look okay, smart and aren't the ripped, patched, just got out of bed look.

Some brown shoes would go nice too. Sometimes (unless they have a dress policy) will allow trainers, by trainers I mean the casual smart look not running ones or Nike.

For the top, a nice fitting shirt with stripes would be perfect, usually what most people wear, doesn't have to be stripes of cause.. T-shirts usuauly work unless there is a policy agaist them.

Black trousers also would work but I'd wear probably black shoes and deffo a shirt with them (probably white).

Some good stores are Burton, Next, M&S, eBay (+usually new, +branded, +a lot cheaper than the store, -only photos, -can't try before you buy), check out the stores around your city centre too, Primark, George, Matalan aren't too bad either. I would probably avoid Primark for shirts because you'll notice if you live near a Primark that a lot of other people might also wear them.

^ you're right, Primark have some ok tshirt but everyone wears them, same with H&M but the h&m ones fit better and are generally better quality.

Primark do have some quite decent cheap jeans, river island have reasonably priced jeans too.

If there is an age limit, be over it with ID
If there is a dress code, conform to it
Unless your plastered or abusive, there is no reason why you wont get in.
EDIT: What kind of stupid ass club doesnt let people in because they were wearing a black shirt?

I've had a few occasions where bouncers have been not too happy to let me in ...

Both times was going out with a group of mates; once was because I happened to have white trainers on (which the bouncer took offence too, even though all my mates were let in with black trainers) ... needless to say we just went to the club next door who didn't care.
Other time was going after watching a Chelsea game at the pub, with me still wearing Chelsea hoodie as it was cold (had normal club clothes underneath)... bouncer took offence to me wearing it (and wouldn't let me in until I guessed what team he supported with the clue that is also has blue kit ... he was not too happy when my first guesses was Everton and Man City (I was drunk already k?) - still let me in, in the end.

So yer; bouncers can be tards at times :(

And I hate clubs that dislike trainers; coz if you spend the night dancing your feet HURT if you aren't in trainers

I've never been refused entry before, in fact on the contrary have been invited to the VIP area in a s****y club in the Bahamas :p*

*This may have been because everyone else there was over 25 at the time we arrived, and I was with 2 beautiful girls

I was refused entry to a club ONCE because I had trainers on, but in hindsight... it was probably because a few of my mates were totally plastered and shouting down the street. I went in there the next day with the same trainers and they didn't bat an eyelid.

You must be doing something wrong or hanging around with the wrong people.

Sometimes? :o The club scene in London is well known for being very racist (as you probably know)... we basically can't accept guestlists from all Asian groups.

I know, I'm trying to make it sound reasonable! I don't bother accepting guestlists from Asian guys unless they are after a table or unless they are girls.

Who do you do stuff for?

Some clubs can be tricky ... I didn't get into Egg first time I went because I was wearing a polo shirt  apparently club policy - and they had a shooting there the week before but I'm not sure what that had to do with it? Took the polo off and had a white tshirt underneath and managed to get in :p

That's what I was wondering! Whenever I've been it's been full of neds, nothing posh about it!

More that it is generally filled with people wearing brands that are more expensive than your average pair of jeans and a shirt. It does have a fairly tight dress code at the weekends especially. Posh, no, clique, yes.

I think your being a little to paranoid tbh, as long as you look clean and aren't a ned then you shouldn't have any bother.

Example;
My mates all think I'm mad because whilst they get fairly dressed up to go out with black shirts and smart shoes etc. I stick on some jeans, any old shirt and 99% of the time some converse. Guess what? I get in just the same if not more easily than they do!

I can't imagine trying to dance all dressed up with a suit or something, it would just be really weird, seriously who wants to go into a club that looks like an office??

Personally, anywhere that isn't good enough to serve me my drinks in a real glass isn't good enough to tell me what shoes to wear.

Pubs in town suck :)

I have been in 'Soical' left to go to the cash machine returned within 3 min and refused re-entry without being drunk before :), also a guy I was with went out for a smoke and was refused trying to come back in.

It does seem fairly random on Saturday we werent allowed in due to someone having boots on :(!
