I know one thing for certain, if we bought Tevez at 30-odd million I would not be at all happy about it. Its far too much money, hell thats more than Torres cost. Happy to pay roughly half of that, but 30+ is way too much for him.
Ooof, I wouldn't say that.
Alisher Usmanov could be ready to help Arsenal pay off some of their debt in a bid to help them challenge for honours at home and in Europe.
Russia-based billionaire Usmanov, the Gunners' second-highest stakeholder with 25% of shares, last week called on the club to "step up" their transfer dealings this summer and it now seems he could be prepared to help them do so.
Debts associated to Arsenal's move from Highbury to the Emirates are understood to be a factor in the club's transfer budget and it is a factor Usmanov seems willing to help ease, if approached.
A spokesman for Usmanov's investment company, Red and White Holdings, told the Daily Telegraph: "The key issue is to ensure that the club remain both self-financing and competitive at the very highest levels of European and world football.
"The debt at the club appears to be an impediment to that and we are ready to help address that if the board asks. Raising ticket prices is not the answer."
Prices were raised by 4.5% last year but the Gunners have already committed to a price-freeze for next term.
No, he is a murdering rapist who supports Man Utd, we do not want him on board.
Well its a bit late for that considering the amount of shares he owns.
There is an interesting debate on this week's Guardian Football Podcast about Tevez. They are speculating whether Utd are playing hard ball or not. As Tevez is essentially a free agent at present (only on loan at Utd and not signed to any other club) would any club pay £30m for him. The sticking point is that we have paid £10m up front for a two year loan deal with the option to buy for £20m. Transfers fee's have naturally deflated and Kia Joorabchian is still holding firm for £20m off us or another £10m loan deal with someone else plus a guaranteed £20m at the end of it.
At those kind of prices it would price a lot of the so called interested parties out of it. Especially when you consider that the Premier League would be all over any other loan deal like a bad rash.
I don't think his future away from United is as cut and dried as some would believe as I can't see Utd literally writing off £10m just like that.
You really think Fergie's going to keep him, regarldess of the fee, after what Tevez has said this season? IMO he was leaving as soon as he came out a few months back calling Fergie a liar (when Fergie said he rejected your offer to him), he then gives the interview at the weekend and then celebrates the way he did when he scored on Sunday.
He's not indespensible to you and you only have to ask a certain dutch centre back what happens when you talk too much. Saying that, i do think Tevez already knew he's leaving and the interview was just a to make it clear for any club who doesn't already know, that he's available.

I have to agree about how Tevez must have felt (and feel now) after Ferguson spent £30m on Berbatov and having seen how Ferguson seemingly isn't happy to pay the same for Tevez when Tevez is about 5 times better in a Man Utd shirt. Must suck for Tevez's confidence seeing Berbatov considered as better than him
No he's not indespensible your right. But I don't think anyone is untouched by the global economic situation and the point stands true, would you pay £30m for a free agent. Fergie has said as much that getting rid of Stam was a mistake so maybe he has learned that. Not suggesting he is in the same league as Stam. However, if he does go we still have to spend money on a short term replacement whilst the likes of Macheda, Wellbeck & Campbell mature. Tevez now knows the Prem.
I still think he will go but I am inclined to think that it isn't bang on 100% that he is off.
So who's is this Dodo we've signed? There are about a thousand dodos in Brazil, youngster?
