They're the absolute cream of the sport. To not care about them is to not care about football.

I was eating my dinner, then I went I came and vented at half time, then I posted after the match.
You and everybody else knows I would never EVER have a good thing to say about a side that contained the holy trinity of O'shea, Giggs and Park.
The main problem I addressed at half time, was the fact that Giggs and Park are old and clueless respectively and Rooney and Ronaldo are playing out of position.
Combine that with the fact that despite having a blue print on how to beat Barcelona having done it last season, and how Chelsea played against them this season AND being better equipped to do it this season, Ferguson completely Ignored it and decided we were going to try and play some amazing free flowing Barcelona style one touch football against a side that is a lot better at it than us.
All we had to do was go out, with two banks of 4 and two roaming attacking players, stifle the midfield and close out the space and try and hit them on the break.
We may still of lost, but its the ONLY way to play against Barcelona.
PS, Fergusons most pressing job this close season is to go crawling on his hands and knees and get Queiroz back as first team coach, as this season we have been nothing short of inept at times.

To be fair I think it is a fair shout this year once the good players have all been picked off.
Great post, i think you have hit the nail right on the head. Utd have scraped a lot of wins this season - there have been games in which you would normally trash teams but scraped a lowly 1-0. A result nonetheless but not in your usual style.
(Cue all the attacks on me!) Although liverpool have nothing to show for it, i feel that we have filled that role this season - absolutely spanking teams 4-0 on a regular basis. I think liverpool have been better than utd overall this season (or at least the most improved team in the league) - a result here or there or a little more luck and LFC could have won the league. But thats football - those 1-0 wins won the title in the end for utd. Remember if utd had scored in those first 10 mins yesterday, i think they would have won, comfortably.
People have short memories on here at times me thinks. On a very regular basis from between Aug and November/December Liverpool were the masters at grinding out results whilst playing poor along with questionable team selections.
I wouldn't be too quick and breaking your arm whilst patting your self on the back for this supposed cavalier and attacking football that some Liverpool fans think you have been playing all season. The same fans that currently hail The Fachts man are the same fans that were calling him clueless some six months ago
Not me! I think people on here need to calm down, im only expressing opinions. I have never questioned rafa's selections - liverpool fans, especially on here are as fickle as the rest of them - like those (ie all) who slated Kuyt on a regular basis - im glad he has signed an extension and is great for the team. 12 league goals, some really important ones in the 'grinding results' as you mention and very useful contributions around the park.
the FACT is liverpool have never been able to grind results like that before, or even come back when going behind - utd were the masters of that. That type of mentality is a big thing for liverpool, and this year we have probably been the best at it. That is the reason we have run utd close this season. And towards the end of the season we have been pretty much unstoppable. Its funny how utd fans dont give liverpool any credit this season! Shouldnt really expect it anyway.

I've said it twice this year. So what it's just a prediction on next year. You never have anything positive to say. You hang around your keyboard waiting for a team to lose be it liverpool, arsenal, manu or chelsea and then come in with same old line of what a disgrace they are.

Most of your posts are just trying to provoke a negative reaction. I've never read anyone so bitter on all forms of life at anytime I've read a forum.
The sooner you grow up and accept that in all forms of life there will be people better off and winning more than yourself the sooner you might get out of this bitterness you carry everywhere.
If you don't care about the premier league go post on something that you do like. You won't though you will carry on posting sly little digs like the armchair fans comment hoping for a reaction.

It really is nothing like the whole squad being bad, I've said so many times this year, against most teams you can cost with maybe 2/3 bad players in the team, one two others underperforming. WE've won games big with Denilson, Song and Diaby playing like against Stoke. But that same type of setup against the top 4, of Champs league, we get destroyed. 3 players can make ALL the difference, against a team with 11 players all performing if you have 2 bad performances you could have a problem.
utd, as liverpool have coasted many games this year with Giggs, Anderson, Tevez all playing horribly poorly, in other games they've played well, thats life. But on the biggest stage, at this point in his career Giggs simply isn't good enough anymore, Tevez never was and Anderson never will be.
Think about the big games recently, how many games have Utd struggled only to take off the likes of Anderson, Rafael, Giggs or Nani and turned a game around, Spurs being the biggest and most obvious. Carrick was fantastic second half where he played his role, first half Anderson was woeful leaving the big gaping hole that Modric ran through at will unchecked and useless going forwards. His defensive play is terrible, he chases the ball rather than is infront of it.
As much as I don't really think Macherano is a great player on the ball, and he's a dirty dirty little git, the one thing he does know is how to be between the ball and the goal, Utd and Arsenal desparately missed that in their biggest games of the year.
The reason Arsenal got crushed in the semi's, Anderson might suck, just not as badly as our holy trinity of turdness.
For all the people who have a massive go and calling Rio/Vidic crap. Lets be honest, they were only turned several times in the game and the whole back line turned away FAR more attacks than got through. Such is life, the best defenders in the world will never be capable of stopping every attack. Vidic got turned, by one of the best strikers the game has seen, many other times Eto'o was stopped.
Defensive weakness's weren't the issue, though Evra and o'shea weren't great, Henry skinned O'shea, well, less times than I can count on one hand, thats not terrible.
It was the lack of real chances from in the box Utd created, and the lack of real posession and that was lost in midfield and upfront.
Anderson and Giggs out of that game and the result "could" have been incredibly different.
Theres no need to panic, Vidic and Rio did pretty well against the most prolific front 3 in the world this season, O'shea, no where near first choice, did ok, the only performances that were actually terrible, where Anderson(in his prefered role according to most) and Giggs.
I also agree Quieroz is needed, Utd's defence went crap and mostly the midfield pair didn't seem to know how to defend when McClaren left the first time, and once Quieroz was installed that came back, he's left, and that ability has left the team again.
Its something Fergie isn't able to get out of his players and needs replacing asap, how he didn't learn from the previous troubles that Quieroz needed a proper replacement instantly i don't know. Nor can I explain his ridiculous starting team, live and learn, even the greatest people make mistakes.

The team UTD played was always going to be the starting lineup, and infact is the team best equipped to do what you wanted UTD to do- play a defensive game. If UTD played a more traditional 4-4-2 with rooney and tevez's up front then that would leave ronaldo on a wing which would leave a huge defensive weakness.
Fergie probably did get it wrong in his approach in trying to beat barca at their own game. Applying early pressure on the ball is great when it comes off, but if it goes wrong it can leave a lot of space for players to run or pass into which is what a team must avoid when playing barca. However I think that SAF has earned the right to send out his team to go out and to try and win the final, and not just not to lose it like chelsea did in the semi's.
I am happy, I have been brought up with a different ethic of football to you, shame you have got into the hype of the premiership. I say what I want but I am never personal, its only a game of football you need to get out more if my reactions get to you and go to you teams football game.

Why, nobody discusses Wigan games so whats the point, all I hear is, Wigan are negative, Wigan are going to get relegated, Wigan have no fans. When thats all you hear on here it starts to get boring.
