The Big WWE Wrestling Thread

I'd have been annoyed if i'd paid to watch that but not bad for a free show.

I would have been satisfied if it was PPV. Not bad overall.

Better than JD, luckily this being free makes up for the fact that I dropped £15 on that utter turd last month.

The thing that shocked me the most about that Strap match was the way the rules were loosened to make it less exciting.

Firstly, I expected them to be strapped together properly. Not with some huge strap that's hardly even inconveniences them. It was a case of one knocking the other to the ground and walking around the ring. I expected the strap to be short, to keep both men close and require dragging.

Also, when Punk had 3 corners, then did the GTS for the 4th. I'm sure any contact resets the count? Yet Punk was let off with it.

Massive potential there, bit of a waste but I wasn't disappointed with it overall.

How many appearances has umaga made in the past year? I don't watch wwe religiously but i dip in and out fairly regular and i've only ever seen him wrestle once.
What was his deal? injury too like Kennedy?
Hardly a talent if they keep getting sidelined, and from what i saw on TNA recently, its much rougher that wwe. Same job, different day, different company. Will they still be prone to injury?

What a douchebag!

I don't understand it either. Sure, they have a large under-16 fanbase. But they're not even getting close to the ratings they were back in the Attitude Era. As in, not even remotely close.

So i'm not really sure what Linda's trying to achieve here. Surely sacrificing some of the younger audience (their parents will probably just let them watch it anyway) in order to attract back the huge ratings they once had, is good business?

WWE are not going to go back to Attitude Era style programming until TNA gets somewhere close to rivalling them - after all Attitude Era was a response to WCW having better ratings.

Alternatively when Vince finally stops interfering with creative content we might get a bit more edgy - unfortunately right now Vince is aiming to have RAW as Sports Entertainment, ECW as wrestling and Smackdown as something in between - despite the fact that all the best talent is on RAW or Smackdown.

Ok ok ok, so what the F is going on in WWE land right now?!

So we have Kennedy fired because he was always injured etc etc.

We now have Batista injured.....yet AGAIN! He hasn't dropped the title yet but no doubt will very very soon.

Hardy wins the title....is injured during the match....now we have Punk as champion....totally took me by surprise however and a good move however if Jeff is unable to fued with Punk directly due to injury then the cause for concern here is that Punk will stay face.

I would prefer it if he turned heel as it would be a bit different and to be fair I'm not a big fan of his as is.

The Umaga thing totally shocked me also after building up his return etc etc but as already mentioned previously, could be drugs, the only thing that makes sense in all honesty as to why he was fired so quickly after his return.

On a plus note, they actually had some matches on Raw for a change which is hopefully going to be something that is continuing but Vince is clearly ratings fishing with his 3 titles of each brand on the line next week.

So basically we have Batista dropping his to Orton who will then fued with HHH.....

Then we have Punk who will defend against someone....no idea who at this point but obviously that will become clear after SD!

And.....*sigh*.....Tommy Dreamer defending the ECW title versus someone and I hope he loses tbh, I mean, really he just isn't thast good at all.

On a side note I did love the Jericho/Mysterio match, just due to the fact that Jericho won and demasked Rey. This will no doubt continue over the next month or so and hopefully it wont get stale.

Vickie going is also fantastic news, if there wasn't a more sympathy driven job given to someone I dont know what is :p She was only there cos of Eddie's death and it was nice and all that but stupidly implemented, she is just terrible. Be well glad to see the back of her and hopefully WWE programming will improve because of this.

I hope they stop the Orton - HHH feud soon, though with Flair is G.manager I dunno how .. Unless they send Orton to SD and bring over Edge? or unless Orton get's injured...

I can see them starting an HHH vs Flair feud eventually so that Flair then get's Batista and Cena on his side (HHH wants to go heel once again) and HHH get's Michaels perhaps (hence the DX Invasion tour later in the year).

HHH vs Orton is not going to finish until after the Ausie and NZ tour in August though I don't think

I think HHH Orton will be this year's Hell in a Cell match. There are no other feuds that come close to being big enough to put in that kind of match really.

I'd expect that sometime around No Mercy tbh, obviously it's going to be a proper PPV and not a free one.

With Batista injured the title will either be forfeited back to Orton or left vacant, either way it'll lead to Triple H v Orton at 'The Bash' (which just for the record is a stupid name for a ppv, they should have just left it as the Great American Bash)

With Batista's injury not expected to be a long one I reckon the next ppv after The Bash will see all 3 in a triple threat match then finally as Tute said a HIAC match between Triple H and Orton come Summerslam

Vicky leaving, fantastic, hated her damn voice.

CM Punk, could see that coming a mile off as soon as he beat umaga, it was obvious hardy would win and be screwed out of the belt, I don't mind, I like CM Punk.

Originally thought the WWE cage match was awful but now I understand with the injury.

US title match entertained me.

IC title was interesting, didn't see it working out like that to be honest.

Not fussed about ECW, but did like it for once.

*Edit* Oh and do you think HHH was spose to have a longer holiday and is only back because of Batista's injury, doesn't seem like he was gone that long.
