**Summer Transfer Thread: News, Rumours and Speculation**

Seems the Don is trying to stick the knife into United supporters here about Tevez not wanting to play for us anymore.....

My answer even if that is the case (and tbh I dont think it's as cut and dried as that) is do any of us really care that he doesn't want to play for us anymore? Who's loss will it be? Wont be ours, will be his, as has been the case when 90% of other players leave United and should he go onto sign for Chelsea they can be safe in the knowledge that they're signing a player deemed not good enough for our starting 11 ;)

Yes I'd of loved Tevez to stay, his heart and desire makes you love him but that's not getting away from the fact that if for 5m more we have the option of getting a goalscorer like Benzema or Van Persie then thanks Tevez we would have loved to see you here next season but we aint going to lose any sleep over you leaving

I'd love it if he did go to Chelsea then spend just as much time on the bench there as he did with Utd. Then he can start moaning to the newspapers about it again.

That's rubbish, here's some fachts:

Both parties have said quite categorically that Tevez didn't want to play for Man.U. anymore.

It was a decision he made before the deadline Man.U. set.

I'd love him at Chelsea.

Now, even though they are the facts of the situation as outlined by everyone actually involved in it, some Man.U. fans don't want to believe it and that's funny.
All I'm doing is pointing out that the conspiracy theories some hold are baseless:/

I said ages ago that the minute Tevez called Fergie a liar (when Fergie claimed Tevez rejected their contract offer during the season) that he was not going to be staying at Utd.

Tbh and despite what MrG is saying (which is probably true), it wouldn't suprise me if Utd offered Tevez the deal knowing full well he wasn't going to stay, knowing that Tevez is a fans favourite and wanting it to seem as if it was his decision rather than theirs.

which is also why its in Utd's interest on their site to tell THEIR FANS that Tevez pulled out and not that they pulled the plug.

Truth is no matter how much either side wants to "prove" their point with links to quotes, you can't be sure said qoutes are true so its pointless. Kia and his side want the blame to lie with Utd and say Utd pulled the deal, Utd want the blame to rest with Tevez and accuse Tevez of refusing a huge offer, hell both could be true. at 1pm on whatever the heck day it is both parties could have sent a fax at the exact same moment with both sides pulling out of the deal and both sides are telling the truth.

Disturbing thing is why Fergie wanted to ***** 25mil on a 5 goal striker who doesn't fit in the team, seriously for all that headless chicken running around the fans supposedly love him for, how many tackles did he win, how many times did he actually get the ball back and create an attack?

The spurs game which stupid people will give Tevez credit for, he gave away the ball loads when he came on, he didn't win many tackles and wasn't involved in any of the goals in any way, it was all Rooney, Ronaldo and Berbatov. He could have been off the pitch and nothing would have been different.

Essien could leave Chelsea this summer says agent!
June - 21 - 2009

It would be a massive blow to Chelsea if they were to lose their Ghanain star Michael Essien, and it never crossed anyone’s mind that he may be interested in moving, but according to todays Star, his agent seems to think it is possible.

The report says: Ghana star Michael Essien’s agent has rocked Ancelotti by claiming the midfielder could leave the club this summer.

Essien missed five months last season with a knee injury but starred in the FA Cup win.

His agent Fabien Piveteau is adamant the 26-year-old is happy at Stamford Bridge but says a move to the continent could tempt him away.

“Some clubs are interested in Michael,” said Piveteau. “He likes Chelsea very much, but football is football and if Real Madrid, Barcelona or some other club make an offer he needs to sit down and discuss what is best for him.”

I can't see Torres ever going anywhere, unless he's seriously pushed. The bloke resisted the urge to go to a big Spanish side time after time in La Liga. I can't see some random club at the same level he's already at tempt him away, no matter what the wages.

No-one has signed anyone yet as the window isn't open, The Independent fails.
The window opened as soon as last season finished, hence why City have Barry.

I read an article somewhere saying something like 'The unhappy Torres would find it hard to turn down a move away from Liverpool' :o

I'd happily gather up most of the journalists that come up with this crap, poor petrol all over them and set them on fire. They do far more harm to the game than good imo.

So far those same journos have said that we've had bids for Torres, Pato, Kaka, Ibrahimovic, Aguero, Tevez, Benzema, Ribery and Johnson rejected.
It's laughable to think that any club would be able to put in that many bids in so little time:rolleyes:

Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas says the club have an offer on the table for Paris St Germain striker Guillaume Hoarau.

The forward is on the brink of signing a new contract at Parc des Princes, but could have his head turned by an offer from Lyon.

could this mean benzema on his way out?

Yeah Windass has gone, you need to up your past it quota.

Its ok, we still have Barmby on another year long contract ;)

As long as owen stays injury free, and scores a few goals he could do well. Its not like we are going to qualify for Europe now is it :p
