Cesc Fabregas has stunned Arsenal after blasting the Gunners' 'impotence' following four seasons without a trophy.
The Spain midfielder has revealed his anger at the lack of silverware in recent times for the North London outfit, throwing his future at Emirates Stadium into doubt.
And Fabregas, part of the Spain side stunned by the USA in the semi-finals of the Confederations Cup in South Africa, admitted Arsenal's shortage of success was affecting team spirit.
"The absence of titles at Arsenal is what angers me the most," he is quoted in The Sun.
"Cristiano (Ronaldo) said he's leaving Manchester United because he had nothing else to win. For me right now it is the exact opposite, seeing the impotence.
"This year we wanted it, we were giving everything - but we couldn't reach the level that everyone expected of Arsenal.
"When you win, you're well. But when you don't, everyone is in a bad mood. For four years now, we've needed a title to regain our belief in ourselves."
Fabregas stopped short of saying he wanted to leave Emirates Stadium but insisted he needs to be 'happy' during his career.
He said: "If I have to say I want to leave I will do it face to face. If one day I'm not happy, I am the first who will tell the manager.
"I admire Arsene Wenger but each of us has his own life and looks after his own interests.
"My seventh season is about to start. It's a lot when you're just 22. When you stop to think, you see that time flies.
"In football, you have to learn fast and take the best decisions for yourself and try to be happy."
The talented playmaker moved to Arsenal as a teenager from Barcelona but has admitted that his family, who are all Camp Nou supporters, would not prevent any possible future move to Real Madrid.
He added: "Of course my family would understand if I signed for Real Madrid because they love me, they want me to be happy and what is best for me.
"They'd support me - whichever club I joined. My family will always be there for me - whatever decision I make.
"They're the ones who are always by my side."
He has clearly stated on numerous occasions that he doesn't want to leave.
Manchester United have failed with a bid to take Brazilian starlet Douglas Costa on trial.
The 18-year-old forward has a reported price tag of around £18million and the player's agent has already admitted that he doubts whether United will come up with a big enough bid to convince Gremio to sell.
United are very keen on Douglas, and have been actively tracking him for more than 12 months.
The price placed on his head by Gremio has not put Sir Alex Ferguson off, but he seemingly needs convincing Douglas is worth such an outlay.
The Scot wanted to see Douglas in action at United's Carrington training HQ for 20 days - but Gremio have shunned this idea, insisting he is too good for such a proposal.
"We have said to them [Manchester United] that this will not happen," president Duda Kroeff stated.
"Douglas is not at the stage where he would go through such a situation."
Douglas has played less than 20 first-team games for Gremio, but he has shone for Brazil at youth level, which has seen him attract interest from almost every big club in Europe.
Yes he's said at some point he'd like to return to Spain, and doesnt intend on doing it soon. Admittedly if we flop this season then i can see him wanting out before next season but he's not going anywhere this summer. Plus the quote is from the Sun and doesnt say he wants to leave anyway.
We've had our fair share of signing dodgy unproven Brazilians in the past so that seems like the logical thing to try and do, it's not like he's available for peanuts like Kaka and Pato was when Milan signed them.
I wouldn't like to risk it to be honest
It's difficult to explain how good the camaraderie is in the Spain team. I am now at Arsenal, where there isn't this social group which is so human, so friendly, a group of normal people like my friends and we don't talk about things too much.
Then again this is the same club that Ronaldinho came from and we all regretted not making that move didn't we!
It's also the same club Lucas came from and we only paid £5m![]()
word on the street is that Tevez's advisors have been in Abu Dhabi and have all but finalised the deal for a transfer to Man City.
I'm sick of Fabregas, he's supposed to be club captain and leading by example, now he's just getting annoying and starting to sound like Ronaldo. And to counter what somebody else said a few posts up, I don't think he deserves a better club, he was with a better club and they obviously didn't value him, he's 22, if he hadn't been at Arsenal there is no way on earth he'd be the player he is today, he owes a lot to Arsenal and I can't see how this is going to help anything at all.
It's also the same club Lucas came from and we only paid £5m![]()
INiesta, with people wetting themselves, started most/all games in the Euro's, yet it was only when Fabregas came on as a sub that Spain started to click with Fabregas getting a simply sick amount of assists and key passes, and a goal or two. He's BETTER than both INiesta and Xavi and has shown how much more effective than both of them he is at the highest level of competition.
Trash
Haha, some Arsenal fans are so deluded
How has he shown he is better at the highest level? Fabregas barely turned up over 2 legs against United, Iniesta and Xavi on the other hand only had 90 minutes and utterly dominated us.
