I watch the odd game in the pub but don't pretend to have any kind of knowledge of it.

I do watch a lot of La Liga games though.

Yeah but if anyone mentions Kaka or Messi being any good on here they're instantly accused of talking BS because how can they possibly ever watch a Serie A or La Liga game :D

I've only seen Benzema play for France but he must be good costing 38m :p

He's very much a "hear a hell of a lot... see very little" type of players with a hint of "he's pretty good on Football Manager" thrown in for good measure for me.

I remember when Liverpool bought the top scorer for 2 seasons from the french league.


Sadly Djibril Cisse just didnt quite work out.

You forget there are us lowly peons that only have Freeview still around here you know :p

I really need to get Sky+ HD and Sky Sports sorted for the new season :D :cool:

Yet people are nursing a hard on!

It's the same with Pato with Chelsea, now I have seen a lot of him and he ain't worth anywhere near the amounts suggested.

Well I watch La Liga on Sky Sports, I wouldn't have a clue what channel to watch for Frenchy games? Eurosport?!
 
Yup I've seen him play a few times on Setanta,

He's 21 and done fairly well in CL games I've seen him play in, 38m is a bit much though.

Going off the games he has played against us in the champs league and other champs league games, he looks like a quality player - good on the ball with a good eye for goal.

I'm sure Fergie knows all about him and knows if he will slot in nicely. More so than any of us on here anyway.
 
waste of cash, we should bring gibson in, welbeck on his own upfront put rooney on the left wing and we'll have made up Ronaldo's goals and i'd like to see Barca outplay us in next years cl final!

What about O'Shea, it'd be a fight between him and Ferdinand for the number 1 shirt if we lose VDS...

Funny that, young Benzema sounds a bit like Young Baz if you remove and rearrange a few letters. Weird !!!!!

Anyway, Benezema, not seen that much of him but I have to say I wasn't overly impressed with him last summer at the Euro's although he was in a very poor France side. I would be concerned that he is another Trezeguet in the making, technically an exceptional player but not really going to live upto the hype. Hope he proves me wrong ofc if he signs
 
38 million for a kid playing well in the french league. Jesus, thats the trouble now everyone knows you have money burning a hole in your pocket.

Without the ronaldo deal you probably could have unsettled him and bought him for £20million or less.
